Job Title – Centre Head/Centre Director – Green Skills and Applied AI Centre of Excellence
Location: Hyderabad
Employment Type: Full-time
Experience: 8 - 15 years
Role Purpose
The Centre Director / Centre Lead is the on-ground institution builder for 1M1B.
This role exists to build, operate, and scale a climate & technology centre that converts young people into job-ready climate and technology talent.
You will work directly with the Founders’ Office to deliver outcomes—trained youth, real jobs,
credible employer pipelines, and centres that run like institutions, not classrooms.
This is not an academic role. It is an execution-heavy leadership role for builders who thrive on responsibility.

What You Will Build
· A fully operational Climate & Technology Action Centre
· A 3-month structured internship-led skilling pipeline for degree students
· Strong partnerships with trainers, mentors, employers, and volunteers
· A credible local ecosystem around jobs, technology, and climate action
__________________________________________________________________________________
Key Responsibilities
1. Centre Setup & Operations
· Set up and opera􀆟onalise the centre including labs, equipment, branding, and infrastructure
· Ensure day-to-day centre opera􀆟ons run smoothly and professionally
· Maintain discipline, safety, and high standards of delivery
2. Training, Internship & Program Delivery
· Execute 3-month internship programs for degree students focused on technology tools and employability
· Work with trainers and mentors to deliver high-quality, industry-relevant learning
· Ensure programs translate into real skills, not certificates
3. Jobs, Job Melas & Employability
· Plan and execute job melas, placement drives, and hiring days
· Work closely with HR and placement partners to create a hiring pipeline
· Track employability outcomes and placement conversions
4. Technology, Digital & AI Enablement
· Be hands-on and comfortable with technology, digital skilling tools, and AI platforms used for training and delivery.
· Support delivery of technology programs including AI, data, digital tools, and emerging tech relevant to climate and jobs.
· Ensure students gain practical, industry-relevant exposure to modern technology stacks
5. Ecosystem, Mentors & Volunteers
· Mobilise volunteers, industry mentors, and guest speakers
· Build a strong local network of professionals who contribute time and expertise
· Position the centre as a respected talent and innovation hub in the city
6. Partnerships, Innova􀆟on & Government Engagement
· Work with innovators, startups, and solution builders to take climate solutions from concept to on- ground pilots.
· Collaborate with State Government and local authorities to identify real climate problems (air, water, waste, energy, resilience).
· Build and manage an execution-driven innovation pipeline where youth developers and innovators can easily access problem statements, data, and pilots.
· Support piloting of innovative climate technologies in collaboration with government partners.
7. Team & Culture
· Lead trainers, coordinators, and centre staff
· Build a culture of accountability, ownership, and outcomes
· Ensure students experience discipline, professionalism, and purpose
8. Reporting, Compliance & Financial Discipline
· Track budgets, assets, attendance, and program metrics
· Ensure compliance with reporting, audits, and partner requirements
· Share clear, outcome-focused reports with the Founders’ Office

Who This Role Is For
This role is for someone who:
· Thinks like a Founder on the ground
· Enjoys building systems, teams, and outcomes from scratch
· Is comfortable managing people, infrastructure, and partners simultaneously
· Cares deeply about youth employability and climate action
· Is biased towards execution, not excuses
__________________________________________________________________________________
Experience & Capabilities
· 8–15+ years of experience in centre operations, skilling, training, education, or workforce development
· Experience working with students, trainers, and employers
· Strong execution, coordination, and people management skills
· Comfort with targets, reporting, and outcome ownership
· Experience working with startups and innovation hubs.
__________________________________________________________________________________
This Role Is Not For You If You
· Prefer purely academic or advisory roles
· Are uncomfortable with targets, placements, or accountability
· Expect ready-made systems instead of building them
· Avoid on-ground execution
· Avoid technology and AI
Why Join 1M1B
· Work on climate and employability—the defining challenges of our generation
· Build a centre that creates real jobs and livelihoods
· Operate with autonomy, trust, and responsibility
· Be part of a national institution-building effort
