Role Description The Freight Broker is a full-time, on-site role based in the Mohali district, responsible for coordinating freight shipments between shippers and carriers. This role involves sourcing and negotiating with carriers, securing competitive rates, and ensuring that loads are dispatched and tracked efficiently. The Freight Broker maintains regular communication with customers and carriers, provides shipment updates, resolves issues, and supports timely delivery. Daily tasks include managing load boards, creating and maintaining shipment records, handling documentation, and building long-term relationships with key accounts. The role also requires close collaboration with internal teams to ensure compliance with company standards and to deliver high-quality service.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess skills in Freight Brokerage and Brokerage, including rate negotiation, carrier sourcing, and load coordination.
Candidates should possess strong Customer Service and Account Management skills to maintain relationships, handle inquiries, and manage client expectations.
Candidates should possess Dispatching skills, including scheduling, tracking, and coordinating shipments with carriers and drivers.
Candidates should have effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
Candidates should have basic proficiency with computers and common office software; familiarity with transportation management or brokerage systems is an advantage.
Candidates should demonstrate problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and a commitment to ethical, compliant business practices.
Prior experience in freight brokerage, logistics, or transportation is preferred; relevant vocational or academic background in logistics, business, or a related field is beneficial.
