Company Description NS Corporation (NSC) is a high-grade talc ore mining company that has operated in India since 1953 and is the largest producer of talc ore in the Uttarakhand region. The talc from this region is recognized for its superior quality, brightness, and purity, with access to some of the highest-grade deposits in the country. Over the decades, NSC has refined and optimized mining methods to suit the challenging terrain and climate of the region. The company operates two mining sites and material handling facilities, producing over 75,000 tonnes of talc annually for domestic and international customers. Role Description The First Class Manager (R) will oversee day-to-day mining operations at NSC’s sites in Uttarakhand, India, ensuring safety, regulatory compliance, and efficient production. Responsibilities include planning and supervising extraction activities, coordinating with geology and engineering teams, monitoring equipment and resources, and implementing best practices for quality control and environmental management. The role involves managing site teams, optimizing workflows, preparing operational reports, and liaising with stakeholders such as regulatory bodies, local communities, and senior leadership. This is a full-time hybrid role, based in Uttarakhand, with a mix of on-site presence at mine locations and some work-from-home flexibility for administrative and planning tasks.
Qualifications
Strong knowledge of mining operations, mine planning, and resource management, ideally within open-pit or underground mining environments.
Proficiency in safety management, regulatory compliance, and environmental standards relevant to mining activities in India.
Experience in team leadership, workforce supervision, and cross-functional coordination across operations, maintenance, and logistics.
Ability to analyze production data, prepare reports, and use basic mining or planning software tools for operational decision-making.
Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, including collaboration with local communities, regulatory agencies, and internal leadership.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Mining Engineering or a related discipline; valid First Class Manager (R) certification/license as required by Indian mining regulations.
Demonstrated ability to work in challenging terrain and climatic conditions, with a focus on safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Fluency in English and Hindi, and willingness to be based in Uttarakhand with occasional remote work as part of a hybrid arrangement.
