Role Description The Director of Data Management is a full-time remote role responsible for overseeing data strategy, governance, and quality across ERSTE Asset Management Hungary. This role leads the design and implementation of data management frameworks, ensuring that investment, risk, and operational data are accurate, consistent, and accessible to stakeholders. The Director will work closely with portfolio management, risk, compliance, IT, and operations teams to define data standards, maintain data dictionaries, and optimize data flows between systems. Day-to-day tasks include monitoring data quality metrics, managing data remediation initiatives, and supervising documentation and controls for critical data assets. The role also involves guiding data-related projects, supporting regulatory and audit requirements, and providing leadership and mentorship to data management staff.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong Data Management and Data Governance skills, including experience designing policies, standards, and frameworks for enterprise data.
Candidates should possess Data Quality expertise, including establishing quality controls, metrics, and processes to monitor and improve data integrity.
Candidates should possess advanced Analytical Skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial and operational data, generate insights, and support decision-making.
Candidates should possess experience with Clinical Data Management or similarly regulated data environments, demonstrating familiarity with rigorous documentation, validation, and compliance requirements.
Experience in asset management, banking, or financial services, preferably in a data leadership or data governance role.
Proficiency with data platforms, databases, and reporting tools; familiarity with data warehousing and metadata management is an advantage.
Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across business and technology teams in a remote setting.
A university degree in information management, data science, finance, economics, mathematics, computer science, or a related field; advanced degrees or relevant certifications (e.g., data governance or data management) are beneficial.
