Role Description The Vice President of Strategic Analysis is a full-time, remote role responsible for leading analytical initiatives that support Coda Partners’ investment strategy and firm-wide decision-making. This position involves designing and executing quantitative and qualitative analyses on global supply chains, profit margins, and industry dynamics, translating findings into actionable investment insights. The role includes building and maintaining analytical frameworks, dashboards, and models that track margin expansion and contraction across sectors, and collaborating closely with portfolio managers and research teams to refine trade ideas and risk positioning. The Vice President will synthesize complex data into clear narratives and recommendations for internal stakeholders and contribute to improving portfolio construction, scenario analysis, and performance attribution. The role also involves mentoring team members on analytical best practices and continuously enhancing the firm’s data infrastructure and toolkit.
Qualifications
Strong Analytical Skills with the ability to structure complex problems, interpret financial and operational data, and derive actionable insights.
Proficiency in Statistics and Data Science for modeling margin dynamics, stress testing scenarios, and evaluating risk-return profiles.
Experience with Data Analytics tools and techniques to process large datasets, build repeatable workflows, and support investment research.
Capability in Data Visualization to design clear, decision-focused dashboards and presentations for investment and leadership teams.
Advanced proficiency in Excel and at least one programming language commonly used in data analysis (e.g., Python, R, SQL).
Background in finance, economics, or a quantitative field; bachelor’s degree required, and an advanced degree (MBA, MS, or similar) or relevant certifications (e.g., CFA) are beneficial.
Experience in buy-side investing, strategic analysis, corporate advisory, or related roles, preferably within long/short or absolute return strategies.
Strong communication skills, including the ability to convey complex analytical findings succinctly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Demonstrated ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage multiple projects
