Role Description The Senior Project Director is a full-time remote role responsible for leading complex, cross-functional projects that support Polar Capital’s equipment financing and leasing operations. This position oversees project planning, execution, and delivery, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met while aligning initiatives with strategic business objectives. Day-to-day responsibilities include defining project scope, managing stakeholder expectations, coordinating internal and external teams, and proactively addressing risks and issues. The Senior Project Director will also refine project management methodologies, optimize processes, and provide senior-level reporting and insights to leadership. This role involves mentoring project teams, supporting change management activities, and driving continuous improvement across the project portfolio.
Qualifications
Strong project and program management skills, including experience leading complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives from inception to completion.
Expertise in strategic planning, portfolio management, and aligning projects with organizational goals and growth objectives.
Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, timelines, and resources effectively, with a track record of delivering projects on schedule and within scope.
Advanced stakeholder management and communication skills, including the ability to present to senior leadership and collaborate across departments.
Experience in financial services, equipment financing, leasing, or related B2B environments is strongly preferred.
Proficiency with project management tools and frameworks (e.g., PMO practices, Agile or hybrid methodologies, risk and issue management).
Leadership capabilities, including team mentorship, performance management, and fostering an inclusive, collaborative work culture.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and recommend actionable improvements.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Management, or a related field; advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) is a plus.
Comfort working remotely with high levels of autonomy, accountability, and digital collaboration.
