Position Summary
F&M Tool and Die is seeking an experienced Director of Finance and Administration to oversee financial planning, accounting, reporting, and administrative operations. This full-time remote position will provide financial leadership to support business performance, operational efficiency, and long-term growth. The successful candidate will work closely with company leadership and operational teams to strengthen financial controls, improve reporting processes, manage financial resources, and support strategic decision-making in a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
Oversee accounting operations and the preparation and review of financial statements and management reports.
Monitor revenue, expenses, profitability, working capital, and other key financial performance indicators.
Analyze manufacturing costs, production expenses, margins, and financial variances to identify opportunities for improvement.
Develop financial models and forecasts to support business planning and resource allocation.
Maintain effective internal controls, accounting procedures, and financial reporting standards.
Coordinate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial reporting processes.
Manage relationships with external accountants, auditors, tax advisors, financial institutions, and other professional partners.
Oversee administrative policies, procedures, and business processes to improve consistency and efficiency.
Collaborate with operational leaders on cost management, purchasing, inventory-related financial considerations, and resource planning.
Identify financial risks, evaluate potential impacts, and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
Prepare financial reports and present findings and recommendations to company leadership.
Support compliance with applicable accounting standards, tax requirements, and regulatory obligations.
Identify opportunities to improve financial systems, reporting tools, and administrative workflows.
Qualifications
Significant experience in finance, accounting, financial planning, or business administration, including leadership responsibilities.
Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial analysis.
Expertise in financial statement preparation, management reporting, and accounting controls.
Understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and applicable financial compliance requirements.
Experience analyzing costs, margins, operating expenses, and financial performance.
Manufacturing, industrial, machining, or job-shop accounting experience is strongly preferred.
Familiarity with inventory accounting, cost accounting, production costs, and job costing is an advantage.
Experience with ERP systems, accounting software, and advanced Microsoft Excel.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain financial results to non-financial stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to manage priorities, work independently in a remote environment, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field required.
CPA, CMA, MBA, or another relevant professional qualification is preferred.
