About the role

Description supplied by the original job listing.

Remote | Part-time (3-4 days/week) Permanent
Are you looking to test your technical project management skills working with 3 of the top 5 global pharmaceutical companies as well as other top 20 companies with a class-leading AI product? If you are, then read on.
We’re looking for a Technical Project Manager who can own the structure, momentum and accountability to a growing portfolio of customer, product, engineering, data and internal technology projects.
This is a hands-on role in a small, fast-moving business working with blue-chip customers. You’ll work across multiple teams and projects, helping turn priorities into clear plans, identifying dependencies and risks early, and making sure work moves from idea through to successful delivery.
You’ll also play an important role in coordinating our ISO 27001 compliance activities, working with colleagues across the business and using Vanta to keep controls, evidence, actions and deadlines on track.
We’re not looking for someone whose role stops at updating a project plan. We want someone who sees where a process isn’t working, brings the right people together, creates a practical way forward and drives it through to completion.
You’ll report directly to the CEO and work closely with Product & Data, Engineering, subject matter experts, commercial teams and our customers.
Focus
You’ll coordinate a portfolio of projects spanning customer delivery, software and AI product development, data and integration work, internal technology initiatives and information-security compliance.
You will:
Take ownership of coordinating multiple technical projects from planning through to delivery on time.
Work directly with customers to establish objectives, deliverables, milestones, dependencies and responsibilities.
Run customer and internal project meetings and ensure actions, decisions and commitments are clearly captured and followed through.
Driving accountability with the relevant work owners, not just track it.
Work closely with Product, Engineering and Data teams to translate priorities into realistic delivery plans.
Maintain visibility across our active project portfolio and help identify competing priorities, resource constraints and dependencies.
Surface risks and blockers early rather than waiting for them to become delivery problems.
Keep stakeholders informed with clear, concise and useful updates.
Coordinate project scope, timelines, commitments and change requests alongside the wider commercial and leadership team.
Help ensure that customer expectations and internal delivery plans remain aligned.
Improve workflows and processes where better structure would help the team move faster or work more effectively.
Balance processes to provide clarity and accountability without introducing unnecessary bureaucracy.
Technical project management
You won’t be expected to write production code, but you should be technically confident enough to work effectively with engineers, product and other team members, and understand the systems and projects you are coordinating and understand how internal AI tools can improve processes, speed, and productivity.
You should be comfortable discussing concepts such as:
Software development lifecycles.
APIs and system integrations.
Databases and data pipelines.
Cloud-based systems and environments.
AI and machine-learning applications.
Releases, testing and deployment.
Technical dependencies and architecture.
Security and data-protection requirements.
You should challenge unnecessary steps, ask good questions, identify dependencies and communicate technical issues clearly to customers and non-technical stakeholders.
ISO 27001 and compliance coordination
Help maintain our information-security and compliance programme.
This will include:
Monitoring ISO 27001 controls, actions and evidence requirements through the operating platform.
Establishing clear owners and deadlines for outstanding compliance activities.
Proactively following up with colleagues to ensure actions are completed on time.
Coordinating preparation for audits and assessments.
Helping maintain policies, evidence and documentation.
Coordinating remediation activities when gaps or issues are identified.
Maintaining visibility over information-security risks and required actions.
Supporting activities relating to GDPR, supplier assessments, customer security questionnaires, penetration testing, business continuity and disaster recovery.
Working with internal stakeholders and external advisers where specialist security or compliance expertise is required.
Your role is to ensure the information security team are supported, that the right activities happen, the right people are involved, evidence is maintained and important deadlines are not missed.
Requirements
We’re looking for someone with approximately 3–5 years of relevant project management experience, ideally working with software, data, technology, AI, or digital products, who can demonstrate strong experience managing projects within an SSDLC framework.
You should have experience managing multiple projects and stakeholders at the same time and be comfortable autonomous worker with a proven track record of successful team collaboration.
You should also have:
Experience managing technical or software projects.
Strong organisational and project-planning skills.
Experience working directly with customers and senior stakeholders.
A good understanding of Agile and Scrum ways of working.
Experience with tools such as Jira, Confluence and other project management tools.
The ability to understand technical conversations without needing to be the engineer in the room.
Strong influencer and collaborative worker.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
The confidence to challenge assumptions, ask difficult questions and push for decisions when required.
The ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-moving environment.
A proactive approach to risks, deadlines and dependencies.
Experience with ISO 27001, information-security compliance or regulated industries would be particularly valuable.
Experience in pharma, healthcare or life sciences would be useful, but it is not essential.
How you’ll work
We’re a small business, so roles are broad and we move quickly.
You’ll need to be comfortable moving between a customer implementation meeting, an engineering planning session, a product discussion and an ISO 27001 action review at the same time.
We value people who are proactive, pragmatic and highly organised.
You should be someone who doesn’t just report that a project is behind schedule, but works out why, brings the right people together and helps get it moving again.
You’ll need to be able to hold people accountable while maintaining strong relationships. That means being persistent without being bureaucratic, confident without ego, and calm when priorities or circumstances change.
We particularly value people who are:
Customer focused.
Tenacious and resilient.
Honest and straightforward.
Comfortable with ambiguity.
Low ego and highly collaborative.
Able to create structure in a fast-moving environment.
Willing to challenge constructively.
Fun to work with.
What success looks like
Success in this role means that everyone has a clearer picture of what is happening, what the priorities are, what needs to happen next and who owns it.
Projects have clear plans and momentum. Customers know what to expect. Risks and dependencies are identified early. Engineering and Product have the information they need to deliver effectively. Leadership has visibility across the project portfolio to enable fast, considered decision making.
Ultimately, you’ll be one of the people who helps the whole business execute better.
If you enjoy combining technology, customers, project delivery, team-working, and problem solving, and you like bringing order and momentum to complex work, we’d love to hear from you.
