The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Security Automation Engineer to design, develop, and maintain security automation solutions that improve SOC efficiency, accelerate incident response, and enhance security operations. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in SIEM/SOAR platforms, scripting, API integrations, workflow automation, and security operations.
The Main Responsibilities
Security Automation & Workflow Development
Design, develop, and maintain automated security playbooks, runbooks, and orchestration workflows.
Automate repetitive SOC processes to improve operational efficiency and response times.
Enhance incident response processes through security automation and workflow optimization.
SIEM / SOAR Engineering
Configure, customize, and support SIEM and SOAR platforms, including Microsoft Sentinel, Cortex XSIAM/XSOAR, and Azure Logic Apps.
Develop and optimize automated investigation and remediation workflows.
Integrate security monitoring tools to improve detection and response capabilities.
Scripting & Development
Develop automation solutions using Python (required), PowerShell, Bash, and JavaScript.
Create reusable scripts and tools for security operations and incident management.
Implement robust error handling, validation, and troubleshooting mechanisms.
API & Integration Engineering
Design and manage integrations using REST APIs, JSON, webhooks, and authentication frameworks such as OAuth and API keys.
Integrate security tools, ITSM platforms, and third-party solutions to streamline operations.
Develop custom connectors and automation frameworks.
SOC Operations & Incident Response
Support security operations through alert enrichment, case management, and detection workflow automation.
Collaborate with SOC analysts and incident responders to enhance operational effectiveness.
Improve investigation workflows and reduce analyst response time.
EDR & Security Platform Integration
Integrate and manage security platforms including CrowdStrike, Microsoft Sentinel, SOAR solutions, threat intelligence platforms, and ITSM tools.
Support endpoint detection and response (EDR) workflows and automated remediation capabilities.
ITSM & Ticketing Automation
Develop integrations with ServiceNow and other ticketing systems.
Automate alert routing, ticket generation, case creation, and workflow management processes.
Improve service management operations through automation.
DevOps & Source Control
Utilize GitHub and version control best practices for automation development.
Manage deployment templates, workflow releases, and code repositories.
Support CI/CD practices for automation deployment and maintenance.
Documentation & Process Improvement
Develop and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and reusable automation templates.
Identify opportunities to improve SOC processes and operational efficiency.
Provide ongoing support and knowledge sharing across teams.
Mandatory Technical Skills
What We Look For in a Candidate
Strong experience in Security Automation, Workflow Development, and SOC Process Automation.
Proficiency in Python scripting and automation development.
Hands-on experience with Microsoft Sentinel, Cortex XSIAM/XSOAR, and Azure Logic Apps.
Experience with REST APIs, JSON, Webhooks, OAuth, and API integrations.
Strong understanding of Incident Response, Security Operations, Alert Enrichment, and Case Management.
Experience integrating EDR, SIEM, SOAR, ITSM, and Threat Intelligence platforms.
Knowledge of ServiceNow integration and ticket automation.
Experience with GitHub, version control systems, and deployment methodologies.
Strong troubleshooting, testing, and operational support skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Cloud & Automation Platforms
Experience with Azure Functions, Azure Automation, and Azure administration.
Experience with Power Automate and Power Apps.
Security Engineering
Experience with log source onboarding, parser development, detection engineering, and rule tuning.
Understanding of MITRE ATT&CK framework and threat detection methodologies.
Reporting & Analytics
Experience developing dashboards and reports using Power BI.
Ability to build KPI, SLA, and operational performance reporting.
Additional Security Tools
Experience with Microsoft Defender XDR, SentinelOne, and other EDR technologies.
Familiarity with Jira and workflow management platforms.
AI-Driven Security Operations
Experience with Microsoft Security Copilot and AI-assisted SOC automation.
Understanding of Agentic AI concepts and their application in cybersecurity operations.
