About the Opportunity:
The GOOGLE CLOUD AI ENGINEER role is responsible for designing, building, and deploying generative AI applications and AI agents that interact securely with enterprise data. This position plays a critical role in translating AI concepts into production-ready solutions that support business stakeholders and engineering teams, ensuring impactful use of AI technologies within the organization.
Responsibilities:
Build and deploy AI agents using Vertex AI Agent Builder and Google's Agent Development Kit, including multi-agent workflows.
Connect AI applications securely to BigQuery and other enterprise databases using APIs and tools.
Develop retrieval-augmented generation and grounding workflows to enable AI agents to answer business-relevant questions.
Write Python services and BigQuery SQL for data preparation, feature engineering, and AI applications.
Train, evaluate, and deploy models on Vertex AI and serve models through Vertex AI endpoints.
Utilize Google Cloud Storage, Dataflow, or Apache Beam for supporting data pipelines and real-time inference.
Test AI output quality, troubleshoot production issues, and protect sensitive data including personally identifiable information.
Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, explain technical decisions, and deliver practical AI solutions.
Requirements:
Experience building and deploying generative AI, agentic AI, RAG, or machine learning applications on Google Cloud Platform.
Practical knowledge of Vertex AI components such as Agent Builder, model deployment, pipelines, or evaluation.
Strong skills in Python and advanced SQL, with direct experience using BigQuery.
Experience with Google Cloud Storage and serving production models through Vertex AI endpoints.
Ability to integrate AI applications with enterprise data while managing security and access controls.
Demonstrated ownership of delivery from problem understanding through deployment and troubleshooting.
Preferred: experience with Google ADK, MCP Toolbox for Databases, Spanner, AlloyDB, BigQuery vector search, Dataflow or Apache Beam for streaming pipelines, AI/data projects in financial services or retail, and PII masking or compliance for sensitive data.
