About Perley Interiors
Perley Interiors is a residential interior design studio based in Austin, Texas. We are looking for a talented Interior Designer to support the execution of residential projects from concept through documentation and presentation. This is a remote, long-term independent contractor role for someone who is visually strong, organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable collaborating closely with a senior designer.
What You'll Do
Prepare polished client presentations, mood boards, and design materials.
Develop and maintain product, finish, fixture, and furnishing specifications.
Research and source furniture, lighting, materials, fixtures, and other project selections.
Organize project information and keep specifications accurate and current.
Assist with AutoCAD drawings, schedules, and other design-development documentation.
Incorporate feedback and revisions from the senior designer.
Collaborate with the senior designer to carry the overall design vision through project deliverables.
What We're Looking For
Approximately 1-3+ years of professional interior design experience.
A strong portfolio demonstrating residential design work and design-production skills.
Excellent visual judgment and attention to detail.
Experience preparing professional client presentations and specification packages.
Strong written and spoken English.
Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with a senior designer.
Reliable organization and follow-through in a remote environment.
Strong proficiency with AutoCAD - required.
Experience with Programa preferred; equivalent specification-management experience accepted.
Comfort working in Google Workspace.
Comfort using ChatGPT or similar AI tools to support research, drafting, organization, and day-to-day work.
SketchUp experience is a plus, but not required.
Experience with high-end residential projects is a plus.
What We're Looking For
Remote independent contractor.
Long-term engagement.
Approximately 35 hours per week, generally ranging from 30-40 depending on project workload.
$2,000 USD per month.
Paid on a regular monthly or twice-monthly schedule.
Some overlap with U.S. Central Time business hours will be needed for collaboration, but the role is not structured around a rigid daily schedule.
