About Us
Palmetto Mental Health is expanding its clinical team to bring compassionate, personalized mental health care to more patients across Florida. We support individuals navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, grief, life transitions, addictions, and other mental health concerns through accessible, bilingual telehealth care.
We’re seeking an experienced, bilingual Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who wants to help shape a growing practice. This is an opportunity to build a patient caseload over time, contribute clinical expertise, and work with a team that values thoughtful care, professional autonomy, and strong patient relationships.
We provide referrals, scheduling and billing support, training and education, and the technology needed to deliver care. As we expand, we’re looking for clinicians who share our commitment to making quality mental health care more personal and accessible.
The Opportunity
• Fully remote patient care for Florida patients; applicants must reside in Florida.
• Part-time, 1099 independent contractor arrangement.
• Clinicians propose their appointment windows and commit to at least 10 total hours of weekly appointment availability across at least three days. The recurring schedule and subsequent changes are coordinated with the practice to support patient access and continuity of care.*
• Guaranteed fixed compensation for completed visits, paid every two weeks. Rates by visit type are agreed in writing before services begin. Payment for completed visits is not contingent on collection from patients or insurers.
• Practice support for referrals, scheduling, and billing, plus access to EHR and telehealth platforms.
• Commercially insured and self-pay patients.
• Clinicians exercise their professional judgment within their licensure, certification, applicable law, and supervising/collaborating physician protocol.
*The 10-hour requirement refers to appointment availability. Booked appointments, paid hours, minimum income, and a minimum caseload are not guaranteed. Caseload develops based on patient demand, referral fit, and availability.
Responsibilities
• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans.
• Provide medication management, patient education, and ongoing monitoring of treatment response and side effects.
• Prescribe within your professional scope, physician protocol, and applicable requirements.
• Assess clinical risk, confirm patient location during telehealth visits, and coordinate emergency or higher-level care when appropriate.
• Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation and appropriate prescription-monitoring practices.
• Coordinate care with therapists, physicians, and other treating professionals as appropriate.
• Provide culturally responsive psychiatric care in English and Spanish.
• Participate in virtual chart audits with the Medical Director.
Required Qualifications
• Active, unrestricted Florida APRN license with authority appropriate to the services provided.
• Current national board certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC).
• Current Florida residency.
• Clinical fluency in English and Spanish, sufficient to conduct psychiatric evaluations, explain treatment options, and provide follow-up care in both languages.
• Established experience providing psychiatric evaluations and medication management.
• Your own active supervising/collaborating physician agreement and written protocol covering the psychiatric services and prescribing performed through this engagement. Documentation must be available for credentialing and maintained throughout the engagement.
• Active DEA registration appropriate for practice in Florida, with a current registration certificate available for credentialing.
• Individual Type 1 NPI.
• Active DataSpring (formerly CAQH) account with a complete, current, attested provider profile and appropriate credentialing access authorized.
• Your own active malpractice insurance with minimum limits of $1 million per claim or occurrence and $3 million annual aggregate, covering psychiatric practice, prescribing, and telehealth services provided through this engagement.
• Current certificate of insurance identifying you individually as an insured provider.
Applicants must maintain their own physician collaboration arrangement and malpractice coverage. These are not supplied by Palmetto Mental Health. Internal chart reviews do not replace the clinician’s supervising/collaborating physician arrangement.
Workspace and Clinical Review Requirements
• Reliable, high-speed internet and a dedicated, private, quiet workspace, such as a home office, suitable for confidential telehealth appointments without interruptions.
• A computer with a functioning camera and microphone suitable for the practice’s EHR and telehealth platforms.
Preferred Qualifications
• Three or more years of experience practicing as a PMHNP.
• Prior telehealth experience.
• Experience treating substance use disorders and co-occurring psychiatric conditions.
• Existing commercial insurance credentialing. Additional enrollment may be required for this engagement.
