Calling Social Workers, Teachers, Whānau Ora practitioners and other professionals!
Overview
Kā Au Kahuraki is an early intervention service supporting pēpi, tamariki and whānau in East Christchurch.
As Kaitiaki, you will walk alongside whānau to understand their needs, goals and aspirations, and help them access the right health, education and social services.
You will build trusted relationships with ECE services, communities and partner agencies, connecting whānau with practical support and strengthening wellbeing, safety and resilience.
This is a full time position working 40 hours a week.
About the role – what you’ll be doing
Build trusted, mana enhancing relationships with ECE kaiako, tamariki, whānau and local communities.
Work with whānau to identify goals and aspirations, coordinate support and improve whānau wellbeing.
Help develop neighbourhood and community hub initiatives that strengthen safety, connection, resilience and Mana Motuhake.
Plan and facilitate engagement activities using kaupapa Māori, Whānau Ora and Te Tiriti o Waitangi approaches.
Maintain accurate records, complete reports and follow organisational policies, including confidentiality and health and safety requirements.
What we’re looking for
A strong understanding of kaupapa Māori practice, Te Tiriti o Waitangi and Whānau Ora.
Experience building respectful relationships with Māori, whānau, ECE services, community groups and partner agencies.
Excellent communication, facilitation, planning, documentation and reporting skills.
Sound judgement, cultural awareness and the ability to manage complexity and risk while keeping tamariki wellbeing and safety central.
A relevant qualification or experience in areas such as social work, early childhood education, Whānau Ora, Te Ao Māori, public health, child protection or health promotion.
A full, unrestricted driver licence and confidence using Microsoft Office and other workplace technology.
What we offer:
A kaupapa Māori work environment and culture where hauora is prioritised
Education, training and ongoing development opportunities
A commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi
A day off on your birthday
Fun daily whanaungatanga sessions
At Te Puawaitanga Ki Ōtautahi Trust, we are dedicated to working with whānau across the lifespan as they navigate all aspects of their health and wellbeing.
