Position: Materials Science Expert
Type: Contract
Compensation: $60–$120/hour
Location: Remote
Role Responsibilities
Evaluate the accuracy and depth of AI-generated content in materials science to strengthen reasoning and rigor in model outputs.
Review model-written structure-property reasoning to ensure microstructure explains the property and characterization supports the claim.
Flag where a model's proposed material meets specifications on paper but fails in service due to fatigue, corrosion, or thermal cycling.
Develop clear, structured feedback to improve AI model performance and training data quality.
Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure consistency and relevance across datasets.
Work independently and asynchronously to meet deadlines while improving AI model performance.
Qualifications
Must-Have
Graduate degree in materials science or a related field.
Clear written communication skills.
Comfort with ambiguous tasks and willingness to flag unclear instructions.
