About the role
Description supplied by the original job listing.
Thank you for taking time to stop by and take a look at the Functional Manufacturing SME role I posted here on LinkedIN, I appreciate it.
Before we dive in, let me just introduce myself a bit. My name is Tom Welke. I am Partner & VP at RSM Solutions, Inc and I have been recruiting technical talent for almost 25 years and been in the tech sector since the 1990s. Due to this, I am going to be incredibly focused on 'fit'...more than anything else. Fit comes in two forms...social and technical, and we will dive into this. As you might guess, I am an actual real, live breathing, human writing this...so, no 'bots' no 'Ai'...no 'optimization efforts' in this posting.
A couple things before we dive right in:
I am not working with external vendors on this. So, if you are an external vendor saying 'I have an ideal candidate', please stop...I am not working with external vendors.
The client for this role cannot provide immigration sponsorship now or in the future. As a result, I’m only able to work with candidates who have permanent authorization to work in the U.S. and will never require sponsorship (typically U.S. citizens or Green Card holders). With that in mind, I cannot work with candidates that require employer sponsorship at any point to continue working in the U.S., including under H1, EAD, STEM, OPT, or other time-limited work authorization.
I am only working with candidates that reside in the US for this role.
This is a contract role that will go for at least 3 months. Yes, this role could extend, but I don't want to promise that until it actually happens. The role is being done remotely.
We are looking for that solid and primary go-to functional person that the C-Suite will rely on to help them plan and map manufacturing modules for a migration effort due to a merger of two firms. You will be working on requirements gathering, documentation and process flow diagramming while also challenging assumptions and not saying 'yes' to everything. We are not seeking an 'order taker' in this role. Rather, we are looking for that solid BA mix that not only knows how to ask the right questions, but how to pivot off of those answers to get to the key need of what an internal user or stakeholder needs.
So, a solid understanding of how supply chains, warehouse management systems, order management, MESs, QMSs, cycle counts, and logistics systems work will be fundamental for success in this role. The client is going through some M&A activity and they have decided that DelmiaWorks will be their system of record for Manufacturing, and Microsoft Business Central will be the system of record for Finance.
In this role, you will be working - hand in hand - with the CEO, CFO, COO and CIO to help guide and drive decision making on how to put together the roadmap for a successful migration. So, experience working on ERP Migrations during mergers & acquisitons will be absolutely needed for success in this role.
Here are some of the key responsibilities for this role:
Serve as the main 'go to' functional resource for manufacturing and supply chain. This will include (from an ERP standpoint), serving as the main SME in inventory management, order management, production planning, BOM planning & routing, and overally supply chain systems.
Analyze business requirements and translate them into functional specs and sys configs.
Develop & execute test plans, support UAT, and ensure successful deployments. This will also include - as you might guess - ongoing support, training & documentation for end users & stakeholders.
Here is what we are seeking (these are all must haves):
At least 8 years (we would prefer 10-15 years) of experience as a Functional Manufacturing lead for ERP. ERP packages will need to be manufacturing in focus. So, IFS, JDE, Oracle, SAP or Microsoft Dynamics 365 will do the trick.
Experience being the primary guide to C level executives during mergers & acquisitions for ERP integrations and ERP migrations, specific to manufacturing modules. This is not a role for someone that 'worked on a team'...rather, this is a role for that go to person that was the primary SME and guide to the C-Suite.
