As we continue to grow our transport technology capability, we are seeking an experienced National Lead - Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) to establish and lead a nationally recognised ITS and Operational Technology practice, based in Brisbane. This is a rare opportunity to shape a strategic growth area for KBR and build a high-performing capability from the ground up.
The Opportunity
As the National Lead - ITS, you will drive the growth and development of KBR's Intelligent Transport Systems and Operational Technology capability across Australia, with an initial focus on Queensland. Working closely with Transport leadership, Clients & Growth teams and technical specialists across the business, you will help define and execute our national ITS strategy while building a sustainable internal capability.
You will play a key role in strengthening KBR's position in the transport technology market by developing client relationships, leading strategic pursuits, growing a specialist team and providing technical leadership across major projects.
What You'll Be DoingLead and Grow Our ITS Capability
Build and lead KBR's national ITS and Operational Technology capability.
Recruit, mentor and develop a high-performing team of specialists.
Drive technical excellence and foster collaboration across transport, power, communications and digital infrastructure disciplines.
Drive Client Relationships and Market Growth
Develop and strengthen relationships with transport agencies, contractors and technology providers.
Identify, pursue and convert new ITS and Operational Technology opportunities.
Support major multidisciplinary pursuits and strategic growth initiatives.
Represent KBR through industry engagement and key client interactions.
Provide Technical Leadership
Provide technical oversight on strategic ITS and transport technology projects.
Support delivery of communications, operational technology and digital infrastructure solutions.
Champion quality, governance and technical standards across project delivery.
Contribute to Business Success
Support transport prequalification growth and capability development.
Expand KBR's transport technology offering and reduce reliance on external subconsultants.
Contribute to agreed business growth and project delivery objectives.
About You
You are a recognised ITS or transport technology leader with a strong network across Queensland's transport market and a track record of growing teams, winning work and delivering complex projects.
You'll bring:
A degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
RPEQ, CPEng or equivalent professional accreditation.
Demonstrated experience leading ITS, Operational Technology or Transport Technology projects.
Strong knowledge of transport infrastructure, communications networks, operational technology and digital transport systems.
Established relationships with key transport clients, including TMR and major contractors.
Proven business development and client engagement experience.
Experience recruiting, mentoring and developing technical professionals.
Strong commercial, communication and stakeholder management skills.
