Role Description
The Vice President of Engineering is a full-time, remote role responsible for leading engineering teams and driving the technical strategy across key platforms and products. This position oversees software development efforts, ensures high-quality delivery, and aligns engineering priorities with business objectives. Day-to-day, the VP of Engineering will guide managers and technical leads, set standards for architecture and coding practices, and manage project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation. The role involves close collaboration with product management, operations, and security to define roadmaps, mitigate risks, and ensure compliance with industry regulations. The VP of Engineering will also be accountable for fostering a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and inclusion, while developing hiring plans and mentoring team members.
Qualifications
Strong Engineering Management and Team Leadership skills to oversee diverse, distributed engineering teams and guide technical managers.
Hands-on experience with Software Development and Product Development, with the ability to review architecture, code, and technical designs.
Proficiency in Project Management, including planning, prioritization, risk management, and delivery of complex, multi-team initiatives.
Experience defining and executing engineering strategy in a technology-driven or financial services environment.
Ability to collaborate effectively with product, operations, and security stakeholders, and communicate clearly with technical and non-technical audiences.
Background in scaling remote or hybrid engineering organizations, including hiring, performance management, and mentoring.
Knowledge of modern software development practices (e.g., cloud services, APIs, CI/CD, DevOps, and secure coding principles).
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; an advanced degree or equivalent experience is beneficial.
