About the role
Description supplied by the original job listing.
We are looking for a dedicated Senior Functional Tester to join the team as a Verification & Validation (V&V) team member. You will own the evidence that platform deliverables work — installing, upgrading, and regression-testing the platform on clean clusters, debugging failed deployments, and helping move validation from manual checks toward repeatable, automated gates.
Responsibilities
Spin up clean Kubernetes environments, run the platform installer (single-node and HA profiles, interactive and silent modes), and confirm every pod/service is healthy
Perform installation, upgrade, rollback, regression, and integration testing of the platform and its Helm-packaged components
Install, debug, and clean up Helm charts; troubleshoot failed deployments using kubectl, logs, and events
Validate GitOps-driven deployments (Git-versioned configs reconciled through Flux), including upgrade, rollback, and backup/restore flows
Run config checks and post-install smoke tests; define what "working" looks like for each deliverable
Create test plans and test cases, log defects, retest fixes, and maintain regression suites for installer/CLI changes
Contribute to automated post-deployment health checks and pipeline-integrated quality gates
Produce test evidence suitable for a regulated (medical device / healthcare) environment with formal validation and change control
Participate in daily stand-ups and sprint ceremonies with a distributed, North America-based scrum team
Requirements
3+ years of experience in QA
Solid background in installation, upgrade, regression, and integration testing
Hands-on familiarity with Kubernetes and installing Helm charts
Capability to debug deployments and clean up Helm releases/charts
Proficiency in functional testing of containerized products, Docker, and Linux shell
V&V mindset — skills in designing test strategies and producing clear, traceable test evidence
Clear, concise communication in English (B2); comfortable working asynchronously
Flexibility to work within US Eastern (ET) business hours
Nice to have
Experience with FluxCD and GitOps workflows
Familiarity with AWS (EC2, ECR, VPC, IAM) and on-prem/virtualized setups (VMware vSphere, Proxmox)
Knowledge of Terraform, Ansible, and infrastructure testing tools (Terratest, InSpec, or equivalent)
Competency in test automation/scripting (Bash, Python) and CI (Jenkins)
Exposure to regulated or compliance-sensitive environments (healthcare, medical devices) and basic Java stack knowledge
