About the role
Description supplied by the original job listing.
Geek Squared is a US-based marketing, design, and print agency based in Columbus, Ohio. Our clients include universities, nonprofits, real estate groups, and local service businesses. We produce a steady flow of print and digital collateral: postcards, brochures, door hangers, event programs, booklets, annual reports, flyers, and social graphics.
What you'll do
- Design print collateral from client briefs: postcards, brochures, door hangers, booklets, event programs, website graphics, signage, and more.
- Prepare print-ready files: correct bleed, crop marks, color space, 300 DPI resolution
- Create website graphics: hero images, banners, icons, promo tiles, and section imagery for client websites (built in Duda and WordPress)
- General image adjustments: resizing, cropping, background removal, color correction, upscaling, and file-format optimization for both web and print
- Adapt existing designs into new formats (turn a brochure into a social graphic, a flyer into a postcard, etc.)
- Update recurring client pieces (newsletters, event flyers, schedules) with new content each cycle
- Organize and maintain brand assets (fonts, colors, logo files) per client
You must have
- Solid Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop skills
- Confident, fast image editing: clean background removal, correct resizing without quality loss, and knowing web vs. print resolution without being told
- REAL print production experience: you know what bleed, CMYK, and safe margins are without looking them up
- A portfolio showing print work (not just logos and social posts)
- Excellent written English - you'll communicate with US clients through your work and occasional messages
- Reliability
- Ability to navigate ticket management / project management and/or time-tracking software
Nice to have
- Canva experience (some clients work in Canva)
- Basic Duda or WordPress familiarity
- Social media graphic design
Hours and pay
- 20 hours/week to start, flexible schedule.
- PHP 290-420/hour equivalent (USD $5-8/hour) depending on experience and test results
- 60-day review with rate increase for strong performers. Growth path to full-time as workload increases.
How to apply
Include: (1) your portfolio link with at least 2 print pieces you designed, (2) an example of a website graphic or edited image you produced, (3) your hourly rate, (4) the answer to this question: "What bleed size and resolution does a standard US print piece require?" Applications that skip any of these will not be reviewed.
