Network Architect

Role Description The Network Architect will design, plan, and optimize network infrastructure to support Amazon Wood’s manufacturing and business operations. This part-time remote role involves developing network architecture blueprints, configuring and reviewing network components, and collaborating with IT and operations teams to ensure reliable connectivity for production systems and enterprise applications. The individual will analyze performance, troubleshoot complex network issues, and implement improvements to enhance scalability, resilience, and cost efficiency. Daily responsibilities include documenting network designs, maintaining standards, evaluating new technologies, and ensuring that network solutions align with security and compliance requirements.
Qualifications
Strong skills in Network Architecture and Network Design for scalable, resilient, and cost-effective infrastructures.
Hands-on experience in Network Administration and Network Engineering, including configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
Proficiency in Network Security, with the ability to design and enforce secure network policies and controls.
Experience with enterprise networking technologies (e.g., VPNs, firewalls, switches, routers, Wi-Fi, SD-WAN) and cloud or hybrid environments.
Ability to create clear technical documentation and diagrams, and to communicate complex concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Demonstrated experience working remotely, managing priorities independently, and collaborating effectively across distributed teams.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CCNP, CCDP, CompTIA Network+, or equivalent) are an advantage, as is experience in manufacturing or industrial environments.
