Senior Accountant

Role Description The Senior Accountant will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger maintenance, journal entries, and reconciliation of accounts. This full-time, on-site role in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region includes preparing financial statements, supporting month-end and year-end closing, and ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations. The Senior Accountant will oversee accounts payable and receivable activities, monitor cash flows, and assist with budgeting and forecasting. The role also involves collaborating with internal stakeholders and external auditors, implementing internal controls, and identifying opportunities to streamline financial processes.
Qualifications
Strong proficiency in core accounting functions, including general ledger management, account reconciliation, and preparation of financial statements.
Experience with financial planning and analysis, such as budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
Knowledge of applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements, and the ability to maintain effective internal controls.
Hands-on experience with accounting software and ERP systems, as well as solid skills in spreadsheets and financial reporting tools.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy.
Effective written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certification (such as CA, CPA, or CMA) is preferred.
Several years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in a similar senior-level role; prior experience in fast-paced or growth-oriented organizations is an advantage.
