Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Professor role based at Saveetha School of Engineering in Chennai. The Professor will design and deliver undergraduate and/or postgraduate engineering courses, including lectures, tutorials, laboratory sessions, and project guidance. Responsibilities include mentoring students, assessing performance through examinations and assignments, and providing academic advising. The role also involves conducting and publishing research, applying for grants, collaborating with colleagues on academic and industry projects, and contributing to curriculum development. The Professor is expected to participate in departmental meetings, accreditation activities, student outreach, and other institutional initiatives that support academic quality and growth.
Qualifications
Strong subject-matter expertise in an engineering discipline, with the ability to teach core and elective courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
Demonstrated experience in academic research, including publications in peer-reviewed journals, conference presentations, and collaboration on funded projects.
Proficiency in course planning, instructional design, and use of modern teaching methodologies and educational technologies.
Effective student mentoring, guidance for projects and theses, and support for career and academic development.
Excellent communication, classroom management, and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to inclusive and respectful learning environments.
Doctoral degree (PhD) in a relevant engineering field; prior teaching experience in a university or comparable institution is highly desirable.
Ability to contribute to departmental administration, accreditation processes, and institutional development activities.
Willingness to engage in continuous professional development and stay current with emerging trends and technologies in the discipline.
