About the role
Description supplied by the original job listing.
RADWIN is looking for a hands-on Senior Mechanical Engineer to drive the mechanical development of our next-generation products, from concept through mass production.
Reporting to the Platform Group Manager, you will take technical ownership of mechanical design across multiple projects. You will work closely with RF and antenna, digital and power, compliance, and manufacturing teams, as well as external suppliers and contract manufacturers.
Responsibilities
Drive mechanical development from initial concepts and detailed design through validation, tooling approval, and production ramp-up.
Design outdoor enclosures, radomes, antenna structures, heat sinks, mounting kits, and brackets for pole, wall, and tower installations.
Perform thermal, structural, and dynamic analyses, including vibration, wind load, and drop, and validate simulation results against lab measurements.
Define and execute mechanical qualification tests, including IP sealing, impact (IK), UV exposure, salt fog, vibration, shock, and temperature cycling. Investigate failures and implement corrective actions.
Select materials and manufacturing processes suitable for outdoor environments, including glass-reinforced plastics, die-cast aluminum, and RF-transparent radome materials.
Apply design for manufacturing and assembly (DFM/DFA), working directly with suppliers on injection molding, die-casting, machining, sheet metal, and gasketing.
Collaborate with RF and antenna engineers on radome performance, antenna integration, and EMI shielding, and with PCB designers on board outlines, connectors, and thermal paths.
Create and maintain mechanical documentation, including 3D models, GD&T drawings, tolerance analyses, BOMs, ECOs, and PLM releases.
Support production and resolve mechanical issues identified in manufacturing or in the field.
Contribute to design reviews, share technical expertise, and mentor less experienced engineers.
