Responsibilties
Laboratory Analysis: Perform routine analysis of raw, process, and treated wastewater samples to monitor plant performance and compliance with prescribed discharge standards.
Water Quality Monitoring: Analyze key parameters, including pH, COD, BOD, TSS, TDS, MLSS, MLVSS, dissolved oxygen (DO), ammonia, sulfide, alkalinity, chlorides, and other parameters as required by the treatment process.
ETP Process Monitoring: Monitor the performance of biological treatment systems, including SBR and MBR, and communicate deviations in process parameters to the operations team.
Chemical Dosing Optimization: Support optimization of coagulant, flocculant, nutrient, pH-adjustment, and other chemical dosing based on laboratory results and process requirements.
Sampling and Testing: Collect representative samples from designated plant locations, follow approved sampling procedures, and maintain sample identification and traceability.
Laboratory Equipment Management: Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory instruments such as pH meters, conductivity meters, spectro-photo meters, DO meters, analytical balances, and other testing equipment.
Documentation and Reporting: Maintain laboratory registers, test reports, calibration records, chemical consumption data, and daily water quality monitoring reports.
Process Troubleshooting: Identify abnormal trends in wastewater quality and promptly report deviations, potential process upsets, and non-compliance risks to the Shift In-charge or Process In-charge.
Chemical and Reagent Management: Maintain laboratory chemicals, reagents, glassware, and consumables, ensuring proper labeling, storage, stock records, and safe handling.
Quality Assurance: Follow approved Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), testing methods (Apha/IS), quality control practices, and applicable environmental monitoring requirements.
Health, Safety and Environment: Comply with site HSE requirements, use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), and follow safe practices for handling chemicals, reagents, and wastewater samples.
Coordination: Coordinate with operations, maintenance, and client representatives to support process optimization, environmental compliance, and effective ETP performance.
