Job Summary: As a Staff Product Manager for JioHotstar International, you’ll work closely with senior product and engineering peers to shape a product strategy that drives measurable improvements in content discovery and user engagement across JioHotstar’s user base in International markets (currently live as JioHotstar in the UK, CA and SG). You will own the engagement, subscription growth and retention pillars for these international markets that define what users see the moment they open the app, how they discover the content, purchase a subscription to watch and then continue renewing to keep accessing the 100K+ hours of catalog that we offer in international markets. This charter is essentially a startup within a rocketship - enabling you to own a 1-to-10 and 10-to-100 journey as we scale JioHotstar globally.
About the Team: At JioHotstar, we’re on a mission to deliver delightful experiences to our 500+ million customers across the globe. Our technology spans 25+ countries, with more on the horizon. The International business org is responsible for scaling the platform and business to countries across the globe to enable Indian diaspora to get access to entertainment and sports content alike.
We blend world-class engineering, ML, design, and data to deliver a seamless, and engaging streaming experience at massive scale. If you’re passionate about wearing the Growth PM hat and finding ways to multiply the experience and subscription business for a diverse set of users globally, join us in shaping the future of streaming — from India to the world.
Key responsibilities
Global Acquisition & Growth: Drive end-to-end growth strategies and experimentation across web, mobile, and connected TV (CTV) to scale paid subscriber acquisition globally.
Subscription & Lifecycle Monetisation: Own subscription and acquisition KPIs (e.g., CAC, conversion rates, trial-to-paid conversions) across diverse international markets and tier structures.
Churn & Retention Ownership: Define and execute churn prediction, prevention frameworks, automated win-back campaigns, and payment retry logic to optimize LTV and renewal rates.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with engineering, data science, design, marketing and business teams to build a high-velocity experimentation engine and localisation roadmap to enable each market to succeed.
Dynamic Adaptation: Be flexible in adjusting roadmaps in response to market-specific needs, launches, live sports events, and business shifts, communicating downstream impacts transparently.
KPI Accountability: Take ownership of key business metrics aligned with International Product Objectives and Key Results (OKRs).
Strategic Domain Leadership: Develop deep expertise in global subscription mechanics, pricing localization, and regional regulatory compliance (e.g., auto-renewal laws, tax frameworks) that enable a growth flywheel
Skills and attributes for success:
Communication: Communicate clearly and effectively, translating complex technical or regional constraints into clear product requirements for engineering and presenting growth strategies to senior leadership.
Data-Driven Mindset: Leverage advanced cohort analysis, funnel metrics, and user behavior data to derive actionable insights and drive well-informed product decisions.
Experimentation Rigor: Benchmark competitor offerings and validate hypotheses through structured A/B testing and multivariate experiments.
Analytical Problem Solving: Apply structured frameworks to diagnose funnel drop-offs, identifying whether issues stem from pricing elasticity, UX friction, payment gateway failures, or value proposition mismatches.
Business-to-Technical Bridging: Connect high-level business goals (e.g., reducing involuntary churn) into technical solutions, working effectively with engineering and data teams on tracking, attribution, and backend integrations.
Autonomy & Ambiguity: Confidently tackle ambiguous problems across international markets with minimal supervision, taking decisive action and scaling solutions globally.
Collaboration & Influence: Foster a collaborative work environment, demonstrating the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders without formal authority.
Preferred education and experience:
Experience: Bachelors/Masters degree or equivalent preferred. Minimum 7+ years of experience with at least 5 years of experience in product management
Growth experience: At least 2+ years owning subscription, acquisition, or growth products at a global consumer scale, with a demonstrable track record of shipping measurable metric improvements.
Technical & Analytical Fluency: Strong foundation in growth loops, funnel analytics, A/B experiment design, cohort tracking, and metric interpretation.
