Based in Brussels and reporting to the Director, EU Affairs, you will manage a portfolio of EU policy issues, contribute to legislative and regulatory strategies, and deliver advocacy activities that support eBay's business interests.
You will work alongside Brussels-based Government Relations and Policy experts, collaborating closely with EMEA and global Government Relations colleagues and internal partners across Legal, Communications and Business teams. Build influential relationships: Develop and maintain productive relationships with the European Commission, European Parliament and other relevant EU institutional partners.
Assess regulatory developments: Monitor and analyse EU legislative and regulatory proposals, evaluating their potential impact on eBay's business across e-commerce, digital platforms and selected areas including payment services, privacy, AI and consumer protection.
Drive cross-functional collaboration: Partner with Legal, Communications, Business and Government Relations colleagues to develop informed policy positions and coordinate advocacy activities.
Represent eBay externally: Participate in relevant trade associations and industry working groups, working with senior Government Relations colleagues to advance shared policy priorities.
Inform business decisions: Prepare clear policy briefings, talking points and recommendations for internal teams, including supporting briefings for local and international senior leadership.
What you will bring:
EU government relations experience: Significant experience engaging with EU institutions, including contributing to the development and delivery of advocacy campaigns.
Knowledge of EU policymaking: Strong understanding of EU legislative, regulatory and political processes, alongside an established network within EU institutions and the ability to build effective relationships with officials.

Analytical and critical thinking: Ability to assess complex policy developments, identify business implications and translate findings into clear, actionable recommendations.
Collaboration and relationship management: Experience working across functions and multicultural environments, with the ability to engage and influence diverse internal and external partners.
Independence and adaptability: Strong organisational skills, sound judgment and the ability to manage competing priorities, work independently and adapt to changing circumstances.
Educational background: A university degree or equivalent experience, preferably in law or political science, or a background that provides comparable knowledge and expertise.
