About the Role :
We are looking for a Lead People & Culture professional to lead our people practices, strengthen HR operations, and drive a robust compliance framework. This role will oversee key HR functions, with a strong focus on Sri Lankan labour laws, statutory compliance, HR governance, and risk management. Working closely with leadership, managers, and employees, the role will ensure effective people management practices, maintain regulatory compliance, and continuously improve HR policies, processes, and employee experience.
Responsibilities :
HR Compliance & Governance
Lead HR compliance initiatives, ensuring adherence to Sri Lankan labour laws, employment regulations, statutory requirements, and internal policies.
Monitor changes in labour laws and employment regulations and ensure timely implementation of necessary updates.
Develop, review, and maintain HR policies, procedures, and employee guidelines in line with legal requirements and organizational needs.
Oversee HR audits, maintain audit-ready documentation, and drive the timely resolution of compliance gaps.
Identify HR-related risks, strengthen internal controls, and recommend improvements to ensure effective governance.
Ensure the accuracy, confidentiality, and proper maintenance of employee records and statutory documentation.
People Operations & Employee Relations
Oversee the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, employee records, confirmations, transfers, promotions, and offboarding.
Manage employee relations, grievances, disciplinary matters, and workplace concerns fairly and consistently.
Lead probation, confirmation, performance improvement, and other employee management processes.
Ensure consistent implementation of HR policies and practices across teams and departments.
People & Culture Leadership
Partner with leadership and department heads on people strategies, workforce matters, and organizational development.
Drive initiatives that strengthen employee engagement, people development, workplace culture, and employee experience.
Review and improve HR processes to enhance efficiency, accountability, and the overall employee experience.
Qualifications :
3+ years of experience in HR Operations, HR Compliance, or a related HR role, with experience handling HR responsibilities independently. (Preferably within IT Industry)
Strong knowledge of Sri Lankan labour laws, employment regulations, statutory requirements, and HR best practices.
Proven experience in HR policy development and employee relations.
Experience handling end to end disciplinary matters, performance management, and employee lifecycle processes.
Strong leadership, communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Ability to work closely with leadership and provide practical guidance on HR matters and compliance risks.
Proficiency in HRIS and Google Workspace.
