About the role

Description supplied by the original job listing.

Before you apply: we are looking for someone who has already built tools with large language models and has some experience creating teaching materials.
ABOUT MLI
Medical Learning Institute, Inc. (MLI) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and jointly accredited provider of continuing education for healthcare teams. Since 2005, MLI has collaborated on more than 2,000 certified activities and reached more than 5 million clinicians.
THE ROLE
Great medical education takes deep science and relentless accuracy. We're adding speed: a small team, modern tools, and workflows that do the heavy lifting. You'll ship real work in your first weeks and help build the systems that make every project faster than the last.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Find the evidence. Search PubMed and ClinicalTrials.gov, read the trials, and build source-linked evidence summaries.
Draft fast, verify hard. Needs assessments, gap analyses, slides, practice aids, white papers, and assessment questions, with every claim traced to its source.
Build the machine. Design, run, and refine the workflows, templates, and quality checks behind our content, and spot the next thing to automate.
Make outcomes make sense. Turn learner data into clear findings for educational supporters.
Keep it moving. Briefings, tracking, and coordination with business development, science, creative, and production.
Own accuracy and independence. Catch errors before anyone else sees them, and apply the ACCME Standards for Integrity and Independence to everything.
YOU ARE
A communicator with an engineering mind: you explain complex science clearly, and when a task repeats, you build the workflow.
A daily, hands-on user of large language models who has already built tools with them and can show us one.
Experienced in creating teaching materials: slides, lessons, training guides, or course content.
Already working differently than you did a year ago, and able to show us exactly how.
An early adopter who picks up new tools the week they ship and knows where each one breaks.
Skeptical by default: you check claims against the primary source, every time.
Able to read a clinical trial paper for design, endpoints, and limitations, or ready to learn it fast.
A precise writer.
At home in a spreadsheet and comfortable with basic statistics.
Early in your career: a bachelor's degree or higher in any field and 0 to 3 years of experience, with research, clinical, and internship work counting.
Coachable, self-directed, and quick to flag problems.
Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship, now or in the future.
BONUS POINTS
Training or research in the life sciences or health: an MS, MPH, PharmD, or PhD, or publications and posters.
Experience in medical writing, medical communications, or continuing medical education.
Comfort working in plain text, Markdown, Python, Git, or the command line, even if you'd never call yourself a developer.
Oncology, neurology, immunology, metabolic disease, rare disease, or ophthalmology.
WHAT WE OFFER
$80,000 to $100,000 base salary, depending on qualifications.
Medical, dental, and vision coverage, plus short- and long-term disability.
A 401(k) with a 3% employer match after your first year.
Paid time off, sick time, and paid holidays, plus a week off at year end.
Hands-on mentorship and real ownership early, across therapeutic areas and formats.
Fully remote within the U.S.
TO APPLY
Apply with your resume, and put a note of no more than 300 words on its first page that answers three questions:
Which language-model tools do you use every day, and what's one piece of work you made dramatically faster with them?
How did you know the result was right? Tell us one thing your tools got wrong that you caught.
What have you built around these tools (a script, a pipeline, a reusable workflow), and what would we see if we opened it?
Include a link to something you built. Applications without the note won't be considered.
At MLI, great education starts with a team as diverse as the clinicians and patients we serve. Medical Learning Institute, Inc. is an equal opportunity employer and considers all qualified applicants without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, or any other legally protected characteristic.
