About the role
Description supplied by the original job listing.
Fashion's next chapter is responsible. Help us write it.
Resham Sutra is a social enterprise reimagining luxury through responsible silk made by women spinners and weavers in Central and Northeast Indian villages. Through Gram Sootra, our B2B marketplace, we bring their craft to conscious brands in India and abroad.
We believe luxury should be measured by how something is made, not just how it looks. Now we're building responsible luxury and slow-fashion products around it, including fashion, accessories and home décor.
THE ROLE
As our Fashion Product Research Intern, you'll help decide what responsible luxury looks like for the next generation of buyers: what we make, who it's for, and how we price it. Your research will shape real products that change lives of producers.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Track trends in responsible fashion, eco-friendly and conscious consumer behavior
Map sustainable and luxury brands: their range, price points and storytelling
Compare different material on feel, performance, care and footprint
Benchmark prices for premium and ethical products, and support cost and margin estimates
Turn insights into 5 to 8 product concepts with target buyer, fabric, price band and brand story
Make tech-packs for spinners and weavers to turn your insights into products
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Design or marketing students and recent graduates who care about how things are made. Fashion design, fashion management, merchandising, textile design, marketing, communication or business management all fit.
Must have:
A genuine interest in responsible fashion, sustainability or ethical brands
Strong online research skills and good judgement about sources (including spotting greenwashing)
Working knowledge of Excel or Google Sheets
Clear written and spoken English and Hindi or regional language
Good to have (we'll teach the rest):
Knowledge of natural fires, fabrics and GSM
Mood boards in Canva, Figma or Pinterest
Content, brand or consumer research projects
Familiarity with handloom, silk or Northeast Indian crafts
Interest in traveling to weaving clusters in different parts of India
WHAT YOU'LL GET
Real work on a responsible luxury product line, from research to brief
A direct view of a traceable, rural supply chain, and the people behind the fabric
Work that supports artisan livelihoods, not just a line on your CV
Internship certificate and a letter of recommendation
Stipend: Rs. 10,000 to 20,000
Possible pre-placement offer for strong performers [confirm]
DETAILS
Duration: 3 months, extendable to 6
Start: Immediate
Location: Delhi / Shillong / Guwahati / Hybrid
