Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced OpenShift Bare Metal SRE / OpenShift Virtualization Engineer with hands-on experience in Red Hat OpenShift, KubeVirt, KVM, bare-metal infrastructure, and virtual machine migration.
The role involves managing OpenShift environments, supporting virtual machines running on OpenShift, and migrating VMs from existing virtualization platforms to OpenShift Virtualization.
We are looking for someone with strong technical knowledge, good troubleshooting skills, and the ability to identify practical solutions for infrastructure challenges.
Key Responsibilities
Install, configure, manage, and troubleshoot Red Hat OpenShift (OCP) environments.
Work with OpenShift Virtualization (KubeVirt) to create, manage, and support virtual machines.
Support VM migration from existing virtualization platforms to OpenShift Virtualization using the Migration Toolkit for Virtualization (MTV).
Manage and troubleshoot bare-metal servers and related infrastructure.
Work with server management tools such as Dell iDRAC and Redfish.
Troubleshoot VM startup, networking, storage, and performance-related issues.
Understand and work with OpenShift Operators and their lifecycle management.
Support infrastructure automation and operational improvements.
Collaborate with technical teams to resolve issues and ensure reliable infrastructure operations.
Mandatory Skills
Strong hands-on experience with Red Hat OpenShift (OCP).
Experience with KubeVirt / OpenShift Virtualization.
Good understanding of KVM and virtual machine management.
Experience with Migration Toolkit for Virtualization (MTV) and VM migration.
Experience working with bare-metal infrastructure.
Knowledge of Redfish and/or Dell iDRAC for server management and troubleshooting.
Good-to-Have Skills
Migration Toolkit for Containers (MTC).
Ansible automation.
Terraform.
Go / Golang.
OpenShift Operator management and deployment.
Red Hat EX280 certification.
Required Experience
6+ years of overall IT experience.
Practical experience in OpenShift and virtualization technologies.
Experience in infrastructure troubleshooting and production support.
Understanding of VM migration processes, including planning, execution, and post-migration validation.
