About the role
Description supplied by the original job listing.
Manage detailed engineering of Generator components like Rotor, fan blades, coupling, seal etc by translating conceptual and performance-based designs into manufacturable outputs. Ensure technical accuracy, compliance with applicable standards, and alignment with project requirements. Support procurement and quality assurance through preparation of comprehensive documentation and inspection protocols for rotary components.Provide technical support during the erection, commissioning, and overhauling of Generators at project sites, ensuring seamless integration of design with field execution. Maintain safety, quality, and performance standards while acting as a key interface between design, manufacturing, and site teams to resolve technical challenges and enable successful generator deployment and lifecycle maintenance.Execute detailed design calculations for Genrator components and systems using both OEM-specific software and general engineering tools such as ANSYS. Interpret design requirements, apply electromagnetic, thermal, and mechanical principles, and validate results against performance criteria. Perform hand calculations and cross-verification using classical engineering methods to ensure accuracy and robustness of design outputs.Assists in defining technical criteria for vendor selection based on component complexity, manufacturing capability, and quality systems. Participates in technical audits, capability assessments, and sample evaluations to validate vendor readiness. Collaborate with procurement and quality teams to ensure vendors meet design and delivery expectationsAbility to design optimized stator and rotor windings for large turbo generators, including calculation of winding parameters and selection of suitable materials and insulation. Experience with integrating hydrogen or water-cooling systems based on thermal analysis. Skilled in minimizing losses and harmonics through precise winding layout and slot geometry. Familiarity with manufacturing processes and validation tests such as insulation resistance, surge, and high-voltage withstand testing.
