About the role

Description supplied by the original job listing.

Location: Noida (Work from Office)
Type: Full-Time
Experience Level: 2+ years
Company: Sustainiam
About Sustainiam
At Sustainiam, we’re enabling the climate transition through data-backed, tech-enabled sustainability solutions. We work with enterprises to help them measure, reduce, and offset their carbon emissions with real-world impact. As a fast-growing climate tech company, we combine environmental expertise with sharp execution to drive results that matter.
About The Role
You'll be the face of Sustainiam for renewable energy project owners. Your job is to find, sign up, and onboard projects: IPPs, RE developers, and enterprises with their own solar, wind, hydro, biomass, or captive assets that can generate environmental attributes such as I-RECs and carbon credits. You'll take a project from first conversation to live onboarding on Sustainiam's digital platform, building a reliable credits supply pipeline for our trading desk while helping asset owners monetize their attributes. This is a hands-on, field-facing role for someone who loves building relationships and closing partnerships.
Scope of Work
Identify and qualify RE projects across solar, wind, hydro, and biomass, owned by IPPs, developers, EPCs, and enterprises with captive assets
Own the full partnership cycle: outreach, introductory meetings, platform demos, commercial proposals, negotiation, and agreement signing
Onboard signed projects onto Sustainiam's digital platform, coordinating documentation, KYC, meter/generation data, and registry account setup
Work with the Operations team on project registration, issuance timelines, and generation data accuracy under I-REC Standard, Verra, Gold Standard, and emerging CCTS offset frameworks
Build long-term relationships with IPP promoters, plant heads, asset managers, and corporate energy/sustainability teams
Coordinate with the Trade team to align onboarded supply with buyer demand, vintages, and pricing
Work closely with the CRM team for qualified lead flow and keep pipeline, MW potential, and onboarding status accurate in CRM
Track monthly KPIs: fresh qualified leads, business potential (MW), and projects onboarded
Build channel partnerships with EPC firms, O&M providers, and RE consultants to unlock project referrals
Track regulatory and market developments (CCTS, I-REC policy, state RE policies) and share insights with the team
Represent Sustainiam at RE conferences, developer forums, and industry events
Ideal Candidate
Education: Graduate in Engineering (Electrical/Energy preferred) or equivalent; MBA preferred, mandatory for Manager level
Experience: 2–4 years (Assistant Manager), 4–6 years (Deputy Manager), 6–9 years (Manager) relevant experience in business development, project origination, or partnerships within renewable energy, IPPs, EPC, power trading, or environmental markets
Skills: Strong understanding of RE project economics and plant operations; working knowledge of I-RECs, carbon credits, and registry processes; relationship building, negotiation, and ability to hold technical conversations with plant and project teams
Tools: CRM proficiency (Zoho/HubSpot); strong Excel/Google Sheets skills for MW pipeline and generation data; comfortable with LinkedIn Sales Navigator and presentation tools
Mindset: Hunter with a long memory. You enjoy opening doors, but you also love seeing a project through to its first issuance. Comfortable with travel, field meetings, and fast-paced, target-driven environments.
