Quality Assurance Automation Lead

Job Title: QA Automation Lead
Experience : 8+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance, with strong hands-on experience in automation testing and proven experience leading a QA team.
Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced QA Automation Lead to lead QA activities across functional, automation, API, database, and performance testing. The ideal candidate should be technically strong, hands-on with automation frameworks, capable of leading a QA team, and comfortable driving the QA process from planning through delivery.
The candidate should have strong problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with developers, product owners, and other stakeholders. Experience with AI tools and AI-agent development will be an added advantage.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and coordinate QA activities for assigned projects and deliverables.
Ensure QA stories and assigned tasks are completed on or before the committed timelines.
Lead the QA team, provide technical guidance, and support team members when required.
Review requirements and identify appropriate testing scope, scenarios, and risks.
Define and maintain effective test strategies, test plans, and QA processes.
Perform and guide functional, regression, integration, API, database, automation, and performance testing.
Design, develop, maintain, and enhance automated test scripts and frameworks.
Troubleshoot automation failures and identify opportunities to improve test stability and coverage.
Collaborate closely with development, product, and business teams to identify and resolve quality issues.
Participate in defect triage, root-cause analysis, and resolution discussions.
Identify QA risks, dependencies, and potential delivery issues proactively.
Ensure appropriate test coverage and maintain high-quality testing standards across releases.
Mentor and support QA team members in automation, testing practices, and technical skills.
Contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes, tools, frameworks, and practices.
Integrate and maintain automated tests within CI/CD pipelines.
Prepare and communicate QA status, risks, defects, and release readiness to stakeholders.
Explore and adopt AI-based tools and solutions to improve QA productivity and efficiency.
Contribute to or develop AI agents/AI-driven automation solutions for testing and QA-related use cases.
Required Technical Skills
JavaScript – Strong hands-on experience.
Cypress – Strong experience in UI automation and framework development.
API Automation – Experience in API testing and automation.
JMeter – Hands-on experience in performance/load testing.
Database Testing – Strong SQL and database validation skills.
Version Control – Git and related source-control practices.
CI/CD – Experience integrating and executing automated tests through CI/CD pipelines.
Strong understanding of Functional Testing and Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC).
Experience with test automation framework design, maintenance, and optimization.
Experience with defect management and test management tools.
QA & Leadership Skills
Strong understanding of QA processes, methodologies, and best practices.
Proven experience in QA Team Lead / Test Lead responsibilities.
Ability to plan, prioritize, and distribute QA activities across the team.
Strong ownership and accountability for QA deliverables.
Ability to identify risks and provide practical solutions.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Ability to mentor and guide QA engineers.
Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
Ability to work effectively in an Agile/Scrum environment.
Strong focus on quality, delivery timelines, and continuous improvement.
AI & Emerging Technology Skills – Added Advantage
Effective usage of Generative AI tools to improve software testing and engineering productivity.
Experience using AI tools for test-case generation, test-data creation, code generation, test analysis, debugging, and documentation.
Understanding of AI Agent concepts and workflows.
Hands-on experience creating or experimenting with AI agents/AI-powered automation solutions is highly desirable.
Ability to identify opportunities where AI can improve QA processes and automation efficiency.
