About the role
Description supplied by the original job listing.
The Senior Pricing & Packaging Manager is a hands-on, analytically deep individual contributor who produces the research, modeling, and pricing mechanics that inform how AvidXchange prices and packages its products and services. Reporting to the Senior Director, this role designs and runs price sensitivity studies, elasticity and profitability models, competitive assessments, and segmentation analysis, then translates the results into clear, decision-ready recommendations on price points, packaging constructs, and promotional offers.
The role also carries the operational side of pricing: making sure approved pricing is accurately reflected in quoting, order forms, billing, and systems so that launches and promotions land cleanly for Sales and for customers. Working independently under limited supervision, this role is the go-to source of pricing evidence for the function and partners closely with Product Marketing, RevOps, Marketing, Sales, Systems & Tools, and Legal to move pricing decisions from analysis into execution.
What you'll do:
Design and independently execute pricing studies, including price sensitivity analysis (van Westendorp, Gabor-Granger), conjoint or MaxDiff research, and elasticity models built directly from transaction and usage data.
Analyze market trends, competitor pricing, customer segmentation, product profitability, and price elasticity to develop sustainable pricing strategies.
Monitor pricing performance post-launch, report on realization and elasticity against forecast, and recommend adjustments; share methods and findings with teammates and analysts supporting the pricing function.
Develop pricing recommendations for new product and service launches in partnership with the Senior Director of Pricing & Commercialization, documenting assumptions, trade-offs, and expected revenue impact.
Evaluate pricing performance and elasticity across the customer ecosystem (Buyer, Supplier, Partner) through original research and modeling, partnering with market and pricing analysts as the function grows.
Inform our Strategic Partnership team as they build pricing that supports the long-term partner strategy.
Project manage initiatives to grow existing customers' wallet share, ensuring smooth execution and minimal disruption.
Execute promotional pricing in partnership with Systems & Tools team to ensure proper documentation and system updates.
Coordinate with Product Marketing, RevOps, Marketing and Sales teams to align promotional pricing with campaign timing.
Ensure pricing meets requirements for billing automation, legal & compliance.
Collaborate with product marketing lead, and cross functionally with sales, and operations teams to ensure seamless integration and execution of new product pricing strategies.
Develop pricing recommendations for new product and service launches in partnership with the Product Marketing lead, documenting assumptions, trade-offs, and expected revenue impact.
Assess implications of new products on existing order forms, sales alignment, and quoting rules.
What we're looking for:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, or a related field
5+ years of experience in pricing strategy, product management, or a related field.. Experience in SaaS, Payments and/or Fintech preferred.
Demonstrated, hands-on experience personally designing and executing price sensitivity studies and elasticity models, not solely directing analysts who perform the work.
Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
Strong analytical skills with expertise in market analysis, price elasticity, and profitability modeling, including direct experience building models from raw transaction-level data.
Proven track record of successfully launching new products and developing long-term pricing strategies.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and senior leadership.
Proficiency in SQL and data analysis software, pricing/research tools, and CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce CPQ).
