About BADIL: The Alternative Policy Institute
BADIL | The Alternative Policy Institute is a Beirut-based think tank and media outlet that advances progressive, evidence-based alternatives for accountable governance, sustainable peace and social justice in Lebanon and the wider WANA region.
We combine rigorous research and investigative journalism with Global South perspectives to help people understand the forces shaping their lives, turn public debate into actionable policy choices, and support institutions and movements to implement them.
BADIL works across four key themes:
Governance & Accountability
Economic Justice
Social Protection & Inclusion
Water, Energy & Climate
Our model blends rigorous research, data-driven storytelling, and compelling multimedia formats that engage a broad public audience.
As BADIL enters a new stage of organizational growth and expanding readership, we are strengthening our editorial engine to support consistent, high-quality output across formats.
