About the role

Description supplied by the original job listing.

Who are we?
Howden is a global insurance group with employee ownership at its heart. Together, we have pushed the boundaries of insurance. We are united by a shared passion and no-limits mindset, and our strength lies in our ability to collaborate as a powerful international team comprised of 24,000 employees spanning over 56 countries.
People join Howden for many different reasons, but they stay for the same one: our culture. It’s what sets us apart, and the reason our employees have been turning down headhunters for years. Whatever your priorities – work / life balance, career progression, sustainability, volunteering – you’ll find like-minded people driving change at Howden.
This is an exciting opportunity to join Howden's award-winning Early Careers team at a pivotal stage of growth. As Programme Coordinator, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional early careers experiences while helping to build the future talent pipeline of our business.
Supporting programmes that range from insight events and work experience opportunities through to internships, graduate schemes and apprenticeships, you will be at the centre of programme delivery, stakeholder engagement and operational excellence.
We're looking for someone who is highly organised, proactive and detail-focused, with a passion for creating opportunities for young people and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
What you'll be doing
Provide operational and administrative support across the full Early Careers portfolio, ensuring programmes, projects and key priorities remain on track.
Coordinate the delivery of insight programmes, work experience initiatives, internships, graduate programmes and apprenticeships.
Manage programme logistics, calendars, milestones, meetings and deadlines to ensure a seamless experience for participants and stakeholders.
Create engaging and professional PowerPoint presentations, reports and stakeholder updates that communicate key insights and recommendations.
Maintain programme data, trackers and reporting dashboards, ensuring accuracy, consistency and timely availability of information.
Support Early Careers recruitment activity, including candidate communications, interview scheduling and assessment centre preparation.
Coordinate communications with candidates, schools, universities, community partners and internal stakeholders.
Identify opportunities to improve processes, templates and ways of working to support programme growth and efficiency.
Support the collection, analysis and reporting of programme outcomes and impact measures.
Collaborate with colleagues across Talent, HR, DE&I and the wider business to deliver high-quality Early Careers initiatives.
What we're looking for
Strong coordination, administration and organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
Advanced PowerPoint skills with the ability to quickly create high-quality, visually engaging presentations.
Strong data management, reporting and dashboarding capability.
Experience managing multiple projects, priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
Confident communication and stakeholder management skills.
A proactive and solution-focused approach with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Passion for Early Careers, social mobility and creating opportunities for young people.
Experience supporting youth, community, outreach or educational programmes would be advantageous.
What you'll bring
Excellent planning and project coordination skills.
Strong analytical mindset and confidence working with data.
Ability to translate complex information into clear and compelling presentations.
A positive, adaptable and growth-oriented attitude.
Strong relationship-building skills with internal and external stakeholders.
Commitment to delivering an outstanding candidate and participant experience.
This is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful impact, helping to shape the next generation of talent while contributing to the continued success of Howden's Early Careers strategy.
What do we offer in return?
A career that you define. At Howden, we value diversity – there is no one Howden type. Instead, we’re looking for individuals who share the same values as us:
Our successes have all come from someone brave enough to try something new
We support each other in the small everyday moments and the bigger challenges
We are determined to make a positive difference at work and beyond
Reasonable adjustments
We're committed to providing reasonable accommodations at Howden to ensure that our positions align well with your needs. Besides the usual adjustments such as software, IT, and office setups, we can also accommodate other changes such as flexible hours* or hybrid working*.
If you're excited by this role but have some doubts about whether it’s the right fit for you, send us your application – if your profile fits the role’s criteria, we will be in touch to assist in helping to get you set up with any reasonable adjustments you may require.
*Not all positions can accommodate changes to working hours or locations. Reach out to your Recruitment Partner if you want to know more.
