Role Description This is a full-time remote role for an Independent Software Developer. The Independent Software Developer will design, develop, test, and maintain software solutions that support client business needs, working closely with consultants to translate requirements into robust technical implementations. Typical day-to-day tasks include building and integrating applications, writing clean and maintainable code, troubleshooting and resolving issues, and optimizing performance and reliability. The role involves collaborating with stakeholders to understand workflows, documenting technical specifications, and implementing secure, scalable systems that align with best practices. The Independent Software Developer is expected to manage their own workload, meet agreed deadlines, and proactively recommend improvements to existing tools and architectures.
Qualifications
Strong proficiency in at least one modern programming language (e.g., Java, C#, Python, JavaScript) and experience with software development frameworks.
Experience with web or desktop application development, including APIs, databases, and integration between systems.
Solid understanding of software engineering principles, version control (e.g., Git), testing practices, and documentation.
Ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage multiple tasks, and deliver high-quality work within agreed timelines.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
Effective written and verbal communication skills for collaborating with consultants, clients, and other stakeholders.
Familiarity with security, data privacy, and reliability best practices in software solutions.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent demonstrable experience.
Experience working with consulting or professional services organizations is an advantage.
Willingness to continuously learn new tools, technologies, and methodologies relevant to client projects.
