Every trip, delivery, payment, and new product at Uber creates financial activity that must translate into accurate, complete, and explainable accounting. Across our global businesses, that requires more than a strong month-end close—it requires financial systems that connect complex transaction flows, accounting logic, and reliable data at scale.
As Senior Manager of Revenue Accounting Systems, you will lead the accounting systems strategy, governance, and transformation agenda supporting Uber’s global revenue accounting. You will serve as the accounting owner for the requirements, configurations, controls, and validation that connect operational transactions and money movements to subledgers, reconciliations, and the general ledger.
Working closely with Revenue Accounting Operations, Financial Technology (FinTech), Financial Engineering (FinEng), Product, Data Science, and Technical Accounting, you will turn complex accounting needs into scalable platform capabilities. Your scope will include accounting rules and ledger configurations, financial data integrations, automated journal entries, reconciliation frameworks, and tools that move accounting from reactive month-end processing toward continuous monitoring and an increasingly automated close.
This role is ideal for a leader who combines strong accounting judgment with deep systems fluency—someone who has worked within a fintech organization or partnered closely with financial technology and engineering teams to build and operate transaction-intensive financial platforms. You will lead a team of accounting systems professionals, shape a multi-year modernization roadmap, and help ensure Uber can launch new businesses and products without adding unnecessary accounting complexity or manual work.
What You’ll Do
Lead the revenue accounting systems strategy and roadmap. Define the accounting systems vision and prioritize investments with FinTech, FinEng, and Accounting Operations. Balance platform modernization, financial reporting risk, business growth, and operational efficiency, with measurable outcomes for automation, data quality, and close readiness.
Own the accounting design across the transaction-to-ledger lifecycle. Partner with engineering and product teams on how business events, billing activity, collections, settlements, and disbursements translate into accounting entries. Ensure accounting requirements are consistently reflected in subledger design, journal generation, and general ledger integrations.
Govern accounting rules, configurations, and financial data definitions. Lead the accounting requirements and governance for account mappings, transaction classifications, legal entity attribution, and business model changes. Establish controlled, repeatable processes that make configurations easier to maintain, validate, and scale.
Strengthen financial data integrity and traceability. Define requirements for completeness, accuracy, timeliness, and lineage across source systems, accounting platforms, and the general ledger. Partner with technical teams to investigate mapping errors, reconciliation breaks, and other data issues—and drive sustainable upstream solutions rather than recurring manual adjustments.
