A retail chain running about forty stores across Bengaluru, Chennai, and the wider south has reached the size where "the regional manager handles it" no longer scales, especially for the operational plumbing behind each store — stock replenishment, store audits, and the numbers that tell you which of forty stores is actually underperforming and why. The client has partnered with Flexiple to hire a Retail Operations Manager to own that plumbing.
You will spend your first weeks visiting stores and understanding where the current process breaks — a store manager improvising a stock count, a regional lead who only finds out about a stockout after a customer complains. From there, you will build the store-audit cadence, the replenishment triggers, and the weekly reporting that should have existed already, and you will be the person regional managers escalate to when something operational, not commercial, is going wrong.
This role suits someone with 5 to 8 years in retail or store operations, who is:
Comfortable travelling regularly across a multi-store, on-site network
Sharp with store-level numbers — stock accuracy, shrinkage, footfall conversion
Practical about building process without a big-brand budget behind it
Direct with store managers, several of whom have run their stores their own way for years
