Reporting into the Senior Manager, Physical Trading, the successful candidate will manage daily, monthly, seasonal, and term trading opportunities; optimize supply, transportation, storage, and customer positions; and identify opportunities to create value through physical trading, asset-backed strategies, and portfolio optimization.
The Senior Natural Gas Trader will be responsible for generating and executing profitable trading strategies across key North American gas markets, with a focus on the Western, Canadian, Midwest, and Eastern regions. Leveraging a deep understanding of regional fundamentals, infrastructure flows, basis relationships, and physical market dynamics, the trader will identify and monetize market dislocations through the strategic deployment of physical and financial risk. The role requires a strong fundamental approach complemented by positioning analysis, transportation and storage optimization.
The Senior Natural Gas Trader will work closely with Origination, Scheduling, Analytics, Risk, Credit, Legal, Contracts, Middle Office, and Operations to execute transactions, manage exposures, and support the growth of GTNA’s commercial platform.

Rockies Express: via AMA and direct offering from pipe, optimize around eastern Z3 receipt points with deliveries into pipes feeding upper market areas (Chicago).
Rover: via AMA optimize around downstream deliveries points (Dawn, vector to Chicago) while tying into other assets on both a firm (Dawn) and best efforts (Vector) basis.
WCAN: via direct offerings, active along TCPL mainline and NGTL, optimizing deliveries into the MW and East.
Viking/ANR/GLGT/PEPL: extensive experience although current opportunities limited due to pipes being fully subscribed, although opportunities do remain via producer AMA
Storage: experience on ANR, NGPL (Midcon and TXOK system storage, DTE Michcon, ANR, Wash10 and Dawn).
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
10+ years of North American natural gas trading, marketing, optimization, origination, or related commercial experience.
Proven understanding of physical natural gas markets, regional basis, pipelines, storage, transportation, nominations, tariffs, and logistics.
Demonstrated ability to manage risk, make commercial decisions under pressure, and operate within controls.
Strong analytical, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
Advanced Excel and experience with trading, scheduling, ETRM, market data, or reporting systems.
