Role Description The Design Engineer role is a full-time remote position responsible for designing and developing bakery production equipment and related systems. Day-to-day activities include creating and updating 3D models and technical drawings, collaborating with cross-functional teams to define product requirements, and refining designs based on performance, manufacturability, and safety considerations. The Design Engineer will work closely with manufacturing and project teams to support prototyping, testing, and implementation of equipment in customer facilities. Responsibilities also include preparing documentation and specifications, participating in design reviews, and providing technical input to improve existing products and processes. This role requires proactive communication with internal stakeholders and occasional coordination with customers to translate operational needs into practical engineering solutions.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong skills in Design Engineering and Product Design, with experience developing industrial or manufacturing equipment.
Candidates should possess Mechanical Engineering skills, including knowledge of materials, mechanical systems, and manufacturing processes.
Candidates should possess Computer-Aided Design (CAD) skills, preferably with proficiency in common 3D modeling and drafting tools (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar).
Candidates should possess Electrical Engineering skills relevant to integrating controls, sensors, and basic power and automation components into equipment designs.
Relevant qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Design Engineering (or equivalent practical experience), strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, and familiarity with industrial safety standards.
Additional beneficial skills include experience in food or bakery processing equipment, project coordination, clear technical communication, and the ability to work independently in a remote setting.
