Role Description The Principal Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Gurugram, responsible for leading the design, development, and delivery of complex software and platform solutions across HSC’s AI-first and digital transformation initiatives. This role involves architecting scalable systems, reviewing and guiding technical designs, performing hands-on coding for critical components, and ensuring adherence to best practices in performance, security, and reliability. The Principal Engineer will collaborate closely with product managers, solution architects, and cross-functional engineering teams to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions and to drive end-to-end execution. Day-to-day activities include mentoring and coaching engineers, conducting code and design reviews, troubleshooting high-impact issues, optimizing system architecture, and contributing to technical roadmaps and innovation initiatives. The role also entails engaging with clients and internal stakeholders to present technical approaches, align on solution strategies, and support pre-sales and delivery efforts where needed.
Qualifications
Strong skills in software architecture and system design, including experience with microservices, distributed systems, and scalable, high-availability platforms.
Proficiency in one or more modern programming languages (e.g., Java, C++, Python, Go) and solid experience with object-oriented and functional programming concepts.
Hands-on experience with cloud engineering and infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP), containerization and orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes), and CI/CD pipelines.
Experience in AI/ML-driven solutions, data engineering, or related domains, including working with data pipelines, model integration, or intelligent automation frameworks.
Background in networking, wireless or satellite communications, embedded systems, IoT, or enterprise applications is highly beneficial.
