Design and develop technical solutions in collaboration with subject matter experts, using appropriate technologies and quantitative techniques to calculate, manipulate, extract and visualise data.
Build, test and review solutions to a high standard, ensuring accuracy, quality and effective implementation.
Manage solutions through implementation and into BAU, including user demonstrations, documentation and completion of relevant model risk and IT application governance requirements.
Maintain and enhance existing solutions, resolving user issues, and developing new features or bug fixes within applications.
Collaborate effectively across Finance and IT, building strong relationships with actuarial SMEs and technical specialists to deliver meaningful improvements to business processes.

Technical Attributes
Strong Python development and software engineering skills, with experience designing, developing and testing code-based solutions.
Experience automating complex Finance or quantitative processes and successfully embedding solutions into BAU.
Strong understanding of actuarial and Finance processes within UK Life Insurance, including Solvency and IFRS 17.
Knowledge of quantitative modelling methodologies used within the insurance industry.
Knowledge of modern development practices, including CI/CD, version control, package management and cloud deployment, is desirable.
Part-qualified or qualified Actuary preferred, although relevant Finance or quantitative qualifications such as CQF or CFA will also be considered.
Personal Attributes
Strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across Finance, Actuarial and IT.
Ability to understand complex business requirements and translate them into practical technical solutions.
Strong analytical and problem-solving capability, with a structured approach to identifying and resolving issues.
Strong organisation and prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage development activities and timelines effectively. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to both Finance SMEs and IT technical specialists.
