Description supplied by the original job listing.

Job Description SummaryAt GE Vernova Power Conversion, we provide advanced electrification solutions that help customers power energy-intensive operations and improve energy efficiency. We are recognised for our high-performance ship electric power and electric propulsion systems, energy management, and automation and control technologies across the marine, energy, infrastructure and industrial sectors.
Our manufacturing team produces a wide range of high-performance electrical solutions that support the growth of renewable energy and the global energy transition.
We are looking for an experienced Mechanical/Electrical Assembly Fitter with proven, hands-on experience in rotating electrical machinery to join our manufacturing team at our Rugby site, working the late shift.
This opportunity is ideal for a skilled rotating machinery fitter with practical experience assembling, fitting and preparing electric motors, generators, alternators or other large rotating electrical machines. You will be confident working with precision components, rotors, shafts, bearings, couplings and shaft alignment, as well as associated mechanical and electrical systems.
Previous hands-on experience working with rotating machinery is essential, not desirable. Candidates with general mechanical fitting experience but no direct experience of rotating machines will not meet the requirements of this role.
Join a team where your specialist engineering skills, precision workmanship and technical expertise will directly contribute to the quality, reliability and performance of advanced electrical machinery.

Carrying out machine and shaft alignment to achieve the required engineering tolerances.
Fitting instrumentation and completing electrical wiring, including auxiliary box wiring.
Carrying out pipe bending, threading and fitting associated pipework.
Measuring components to tight engineering tolerances using precision equipment, including micrometers, verniers, bore micrometers and DTI gauges.
Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, assembly drawings and electrical schematics.
Preparing completed machines for dispatch, including fitting labels, earths, couplings and transit gear.
Working safely and complying with all Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) requirements.
Following manufacturing processes, work instructions and strict quality standards throughout production.
Achieving agreed production, quality and delivery targets.
Working closely with Area Leaders, Team Leaders and other departments to support manufacturing objectives.
