Job Description:
As an Associate Software Engineer, you’ll help create the playful, polished mobile experiences that keep Candy Crush Soda Saga fresh for millions of players. Working alongside experienced engineers and a cross-functional game team, you’ll contribute to building, testing and improving game features while developing your craft in a creative, collaborative environment. Your work will support the quality, performance and enjoyment of a world-leading live game.

Your Role Within the Kingdom
Implement and test new game features, working closely with engineers, game designers, artists and quality assurance colleagues to turn ideas into great player experiences.
Help maintain, improve and optimize existing features, contributing to the stability, quality and performance of Candy Crush Soda Saga.
Write clear, well-structured C++ code and follow established engineering practices, code-review processes and quality standards.
Investigate and resolve routine technical issues, seeking guidance from teammates when working through unfamiliar or complex challenges.
Take an active part in game creation by sharing ideas, learning the wider game-development process and building an understanding of the full technical stack.
Collaborate openly with your team, share knowledge and contribute to a supportive environment where everyone can do their best work.
Skills to Create Thrills
Experience
Experience building software through professional work, internships, personal projects, university projects or equivalent practical experience.
Familiarity with implementing and testing features in an object-oriented programming environment.
Experience collaborating on code through version control, code reviews or team-based projects.
Knowledge & Skills
Good foundation in C++ and object-oriented programming principles.
Ability to write readable, maintainable code and troubleshoot issues using established tools, systems and development practices.
Understanding of software testing, debugging and the importance of performance, quality and polish in player-facing products.
Experience with game development, Android or iOS development, or performance- and memory-sensitive applications is a plus.
