We are looking for an experienced Operations Coordinator to support the daily operations of Slimlines Equipment, our heavy equipment rental business.
This is a hands-on operational leadership opportunity for someone who enjoys coordinating people, equipment and processes, solving problems and delivering excellent customer service.
You will play an important role in ensuring our equipment is available when customers need it, deliveries run smoothly, costs are managed effectively and our team works safely and efficiently.
What You'll Be Doing
Operations & Business Performance
Coordinate the daily activities of the heavy equipment rental business.
Monitor operational performance, identify inefficiencies and recommend improvements.
Support budgeting, cost monitoring and financial reporting.
Work closely with logistics, maintenance, sales and finance teams to maintain efficient operations.
Equipment & Fleet Management
Oversee equipment inventory, availability, utilization and maintenance schedules.
Maintain accurate equipment records, including locations, usage and servicing requirements.
Coordinate planned and emergency maintenance to minimize downtime.
Identify opportunities to improve equipment utilization and operational efficiency.
Rental Operations & Customer Service
Coordinate customer enquiries, quotations, rental agreements and equipment bookings.
Ensure deliveries, collections, invoicing and customer requests are handled accurately and promptly.
Build positive relationships with customers and respond professionally to concerns.
Support repeat business through dependable service and effective communication.
Logistics & Scheduling
Coordinate transportation, equipment movements, deliveries and collections.
Work with drivers, mechanics and operational personnel to maintain efficient schedules.
Respond to breakdowns, scheduling conflicts and urgent customer requirements.
Maintain accurate records of equipment movements and logistics activities.
Safety & Team Coordination
Promote safe equipment operation, transportation and workplace practices.
Coordinate safety inspections, maintain records and escalate hazards or incidents.
Organize work schedules, allocate responsibilities and monitor team performance.
Support training, development and a positive working environment.
What We're Looking For
We are looking for someone who combines operational experience with sound judgement, commercial awareness and a genuine commitment to customer service.
Qualifications & Experience
High School diploma or equivalent. PMP certification is advantageous.
At least five years' relevant operational experience, preferably in equipment rental, logistics, construction or a related industry.
Demonstrated experience supervising teams, coordinating operations and improving business processes.
Experience managing budgets, controlling costs and preparing operational reports.
Practical knowledge of equipment inventory, maintenance coordination, fleet operations and transportation logistics.
Technical & Professional Skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word and Outlook.
Familiarity with inventory management, CRM or operational management systems.
Knowledge of Zoho CRM or similar software would be an advantage.
Understanding of heavy equipment capabilities, maintenance requirements and operational safety.
Strong planning, organization, communication and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage competing priorities and respond effectively to operational challenges.
