Transfer Pricing Consultant (Graduate to Senior)
Work on international business matters. Learn from experienced advisers. Build your career with a growing specialist firm.
ABOUT TPEQ
TPEQ is a specialist transfer pricing and international tax advisory firm helping multinational businesses navigate the financial, commercial and tax challenges of operating across international borders.
We work with a diverse range of clients across Australia, New Zealand and internationally, advising on transfer pricing policies, cross-border transactions, financial arrangements, economic analysis and international taxation.
Our team brings extensive Big Four, international tax and transfer pricing experience. We combine the technical expertise and professional standards of a major advisory firm with the flexibility, accessibility and commercial focus of a specialist boutique.
We're a small, ambitious and growing business where everyone's contribution matters.
THE OPPORTUNITY
We're looking for a talented, analytically minded individual to join our advisory team in a permanent, full-time position.
Ideally, we'd love to hear from someone with two to five years' relevant professional experience who is ready to take greater responsibility for client work. However, we're equally interested in exceptional graduates who demonstrate strong analytical ability, intellectual curiosity and a genuine enthusiasm for learning.
We're more interested in finding the right person than filling a position at a predetermined level. Your responsibilities, seniority and remuneration will reflect your experience and capabilities.
You'll work directly with experienced advisers on challenging international matters, gaining exposure to the financial, commercial and tax issues that arise when businesses operate across borders.
This is an opportunity to build specialist expertise, develop your commercial judgment and take on meaningful responsibility as your career progresses.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
Depending on your experience, your responsibilities will include:
Transfer pricing advisory: Helping multinational businesses develop and implement transfer pricing policies for intercompany services, financing arrangements, intellectual property and business restructurings.
Financial and economic analysis: Analysing financial statements, business performance and cross-border transactions, including financial modelling and economic benchmarking.
Technical advice and documentation: Preparing transfer pricing documentation, technical reports and practical recommendations for clients.
International tax research: Researching Australian, New Zealand and international tax requirements, OECD guidance and emerging developments.
Client engagement: Working with clients to understand their businesses and translate complex technical matters into commercially relevant advice.
Project delivery: Managing assigned tasks and, with experience, taking responsibility for workstreams, deadlines and client deliverables.
Innovation: Contributing to the development of our systems, templates and technology-enabled processes, including the responsible use of AI.
More experienced candidates will have opportunities to take greater ownership of engagements, build client relationships and contribute to the development of junior team members.
ABOUT YOU
You might currently be working in transfer pricing, international tax, corporate tax, accounting, economics, finance or another relevant advisory discipline. Alternatively, you might be an outstanding graduate looking for an interesting and challenging start to your professional career.
We're looking for someone who brings:
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Confidence working with numbers, financial information and Excel.
• Intellectual curiosity, commercial awareness and an interest in international business.
• Initiative, sound judgment and a willingness to take ownership of work.
• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
• A collaborative, down-to-earth approach and the ability to work effectively within a small team.
• A genuine commitment to learning and professional development.
Previous transfer pricing or international tax experience would be highly regarded but isn't essential. We're willing to invest in developing someone with the right capabilities, attitude and potential.
WHY JOIN TPEQ?
Learn from experienced professionals
Work directly alongside senior advisers with extensive Big Four and international experience. Benefit from close mentoring, constructive feedback and genuine exposure to technical and commercial decision-making.
Interesting international work
Our clients operate across multiple jurisdictions and industries, giving you exposure to complex transactions, different business models and challenging commercial issues.
Real responsibility and career development
In a smaller firm, you'll have opportunities to contribute directly to client engagements, develop relationships and take increasing ownership of your work, without the multiple layers of hierarchy often found in larger organisations.
Flexibility and work-life balance
We're a remote-first practice and welcome applicants from anywhere in New Zealand. We offer flexible working arrangements while maintaining a collaborative, supportive team environment.
Grow with the business
Join an established specialist firm with ambitious plans for continued growth across Australia and New Zealand. Your ideas will be heard, your contribution will be valued and you'll have the opportunity to help shape our future.
INTERESTED?
Whether you're an experienced professional considering your next move or an ambitious graduate interested in international business, finance and taxation, we'd love to hear from you.
Please apply with your CV and a brief introduction outlining your background, interests and why you'd like to join TPEQ.
Applicants must have the legal right to work in New Zealand.
Applications close Friday, 6 November 2026. Applications will be reviewed as they are received.
