Key Responsibilities
Product Strategy Development: Develop and execute comprehensive product strategies that align with the company's business objectives, market opportunities, and long-term growth plans.
Product Vision and Roadmap: Establish the product vision, strategic direction, and long-term roadmap, ensuring product initiatives support organizational priorities and customer expectations.
Market Research and Competitive Analysis: Evaluate industry trends, competitor offerings, customer preferences, and emerging technologies to identify opportunities for product differentiation and market expansion.
Product Portfolio Management: Oversee product portfolio strategy, assess product performance, prioritize investments, and identify opportunities for new products, enhancements, or portfolio optimization.
Customer Insights and Market Needs: Incorporate customer feedback, market research, and behavioral data into strategic product decisions to improve product relevance and customer satisfaction.
Business Case Development: Evaluate proposed product initiatives, develop business cases, assess market potential, and analyze financial projections to support investment and prioritization decisions.
Cross-Functional Strategic Alignment: Collaborate with product management, engineering, design, marketing, sales, finance, and operations teams to ensure coordinated product planning and execution.
Product Innovation and Development: Identify emerging technologies, new business models, and innovative product opportunities that strengthen competitive advantage and support future growth.
Go-to-Market Strategy: Partner with marketing and commercial teams to establish product positioning, launch priorities, market entry strategies, and commercialization plans.
Product Performance and KPIs: Define and monitor key performance indicators related to product adoption, customer retention, revenue contribution, profitability, and market penetration.
Resource and Investment Allocation: Recommend product investments, resource allocation, and strategic priorities based on business impact, customer value, and expected returns.
Strategic Initiative Leadership: Lead major product strategy initiatives, manage dependencies across departments, and ensure strategic projects deliver measurable business outcomes.
Team Leadership and Development: Lead, mentor, and develop product strategy and product management leaders while promoting strategic thinking, innovation, accountability, and collaboration.
Executive Advisory and Reporting: Present product strategy recommendations, market assessments, portfolio performance, and long-term product plans to executive leadership and the board of directors, as appropriate.
Qualifications and Requirements
Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Product Management, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, or a related field. An MBA or advanced degree is preferred.
Professional Experience: Minimum of 12–15 years of progressive experience in product strategy, product management, corporate strategy, product development, or related functions.
Senior Leadership Experience: At least 5–7 years of experience in senior leadership roles overseeing product strategy, product portfolios, or cross-functional product organizations.
Product Strategy Expertise: Demonstrated ability to develop product visions, strategic roadmaps, portfolio plans, and investment priorities aligned with business objectives.
Market and Competitive Intelligence: Strong understanding of market research, competitive positioning, customer segmentation, and industry trends.
Financial and Commercial Acumen: Experience evaluating business cases, financial projections, product profitability, investment opportunities, and revenue growth potential.
Data-Driven Decision-Making: Ability to analyze product performance, interpret market data, and translate insights into actionable strategic recommendations.
Innovation and Technology Awareness: Understanding of product development methodologies, emerging technologies, and evolving customer expectations.
Leadership and Communication: Excellent strategic planning, executive communication, presentation, negotiation, and team leadership skills.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Proven ability to align senior stakeholders across product, engineering, marketing, sales, finance, and operations.
