Role Description The Postdoctoral Researcher – AI & IoT will work full time on-site in Lahore, leading and contributing to research projects that integrate artificial intelligence with IoT systems. Responsibilities include designing experiments, developing algorithms, implementing prototypes, and analyzing data to advance intelligent sensing, edge computing, and connected device solutions. The role involves preparing research reports, technical documentation, and scholarly publications, as well as presenting findings to internal teams and external stakeholders. The researcher will collaborate with engineers, data scientists, and product teams to align research outcomes with practical applications and potential commercialization. Day-to-day tasks also include mentoring junior researchers or interns, staying current with relevant literature, and supporting grant proposals or project bids when needed.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in artificial intelligence and machine learning, including model development, training, and evaluation.
Experience with IoT architectures, embedded systems, or edge computing, and integration of AI models into connected devices.
Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in AI and IoT (such as Python, C/C++, or similar) and familiarity with relevant frameworks or tools.
Demonstrated ability to design and execute research studies, analyze complex datasets, and document findings in a clear, structured manner.
Track record of scientific writing, including peer-reviewed publications, technical reports, or conference presentations.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate in multidisciplinary teams.
Doctoral degree (PhD or equivalent) in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, Data Science, or a closely related field.
Ability to work on-site in Lahore on a full-time basis and manage multiple research tasks and deadlines effectively.
Experience in industry-academia collaboration, applied research, or technology transfer is an asset.
Familiarity with research ethics, reproducible research practices, and responsible AI is beneficial.
