About the role
Description supplied by the original job listing.
Role: Associate Product Manager
Location: Gurgaon
About the Function
Flights is MakeMyTrip’s flagship business, serving millions of travellers
across domestic and international routes. Within it, Flights Supply is the
engine behind every fare a customer sees, books and gets serviced on. It covers
connectivity with airlines, GDS, NDC and aggregators, and the content, pricing
and servicing capabilities built on top.
As the business scales, the supply stack must be more reliable, more
accurate and less dependent on manual effort. We are building supply systems
that detect problems before customers do, keep content and pricing in parity
with the source, and use AI to automate work that has traditionally been
manual.
The Flights Supply team combines deep
distribution knowledge, data-driven decision making and strong engineering
partnerships. Product managers, analysts, engineers, designers and business
teams work together to make every booking dependable and every servicing
journey efficient.
About the Role
We are looking for a Assistant Manager, Product Management to own a workstream
within Flights Supply, such as supply-side conversion, content and pricing
accuracy, or airline and ancillary integrations. This role requires strong
product thinking, a quick grasp of technical systems, execution excellence and
a passion for solving problems with data and AI.
You will take features and projects from problem
definition to launch, working closely with engineering, airline and
distribution partners, finance, customer support and the funnel product team.
You will shape the direction of your workstream and be accountable for its
results
What will you be doing
Own the roadmap and delivery for a defined area of the funnel, and shape its direction and priorities in line with the overall funnel strategy.
Identify friction and drop-offs in the booking journey through data, customer feedback and competitor benchmarking, and turn them into well-scoped product opportunities.
Write clear PRDs and detailed user stories, and groom them in depth with tech so edge cases are covered before development, not after go-live.
Work with design to craft simple, high-converting experiences across app, web and mobile web.
Define hypotheses and success metrics, run A/B experiments, and read the results with rigour before drawing conclusions.
Track funnel metrics such as search-to-book conversion, step-wise drop-offs by channel, platform and region, page performance and revenue per booking. Build dashboards and keep them current.
Use AI tools to speed up analysis, research and routine work, and contribute ideas for AI-led booking and discovery experiences.
Support launches of new features and experiences across the funnel, working with business, marketing and supply teams.
Run execution from concept to launch and post-launch optimisation, and flag risks and delays early.
You will operate at the intersection of:
Consumer Product + Growth + Data Science + AI-powered Experiences
Conversion + Engagement + Monetisation
Customer Understanding + Data-Driven Decision Making
You will find high-impact opportunities, validate solutions quickly and ship products that create measurable value for customers and the business
Qualification & Experience
Engineering or Management graduates from reputed institutes with 1 to 3 years of experience in product management, product analytics or growth roles in a consumer-facing, technology-enabled business.
Experience working with data. Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and SQL is expected, along with the habit of checking your own numbers before sharing them.
Understanding of agile product development, including requirement definition, prioritisation and metric tracking.
Experience with A/B testing and product analytics tools such as Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, Mixpanel or Microsoft Clarity will be an added advantage.
Exposure to travel, e-commerce or marketplace funnels will be an added advantage.
Familiarity with the Indian consumer and travel market is a plus.
Key Success Factors for the Role
Strong product thinking, with the ability to turn ambiguous problems into structured solutions.
Strong analytical mindset, with the ability to work with large datasets, sanity-check your own outputs and deliver insights and recommendations, not just numbers.
Attention to detail and speed of execution, with updates shared before you are asked.
Curiosity about GenAI and its application to travel discovery and booking.
Ability to collaborate across engineering, design, analytics, business and supply teams.
High ownership mindset, with the ability to drive work independently from ideation to launch and communicate delays early.
